Duties and Responsibilities

Our client is a leading fuel supply and distribution company operating in Europe, Middle East and Asia. They provide vital services in fuel management and supply to both the military and private companies operating in post conflict and remote areas.

They are seeking an Aircraft Refueller to be based in Afghanistan. The position is permanent on an open ended contract.

Reporting into the Fuel Delivery Manager, the successful candidate will be refuelling aircraft in accordance with our clients company policies and procedures.
Specifically you will safely and efficiently conduct Refuelling Operations of a variety of Military and Civilian Aircraft on AFG Military controlled Airfield Aprons in accordance with NATO and our clients policies and procedures.
You will ensure all Fuel Delivery Assets are serviceable through scheduled daily/weekly checks.
You will maintain aviation product levels to maximum SFL in Fuel Tankers to enable adequate volumes to be supplied to aircraft on time 24/7.
You will ensure aviation product is delivered clean and dry and on specification to customers in the requested quantities, safely and within contractual timeframe.
You will conduct daily QC Checks on all serviceable Fuel Tankers.
You will safely load Fuel Tankers in accordance with company procedures.
You will conduct clear and concise communications with ATC Tower and Air Operations.
You will refuel Aircraft in accordance with strict Company procedures whilst constantly observing pump pressures, flow rates and equipment integrity.
You will ensure all associated paperwork is completed legibly and correctly through to final Customer invoicing.
You will identify and report any incidents and potential hazards in the workplace.
You will account for any stock under your daily responsibility.
You will maintain all workplace areas i.e. Truck cabs, Office, QC shed, Truck parking bay so as to remain clean, tidy and free of hazards.
You will ensure that all security procedures and practices are adhered to.
You will ensure that all items of company property whilst in your possession are treated in a responsible manner.
You will ensure that all regulations relating to the safety of equipment and personnel are adhered to.
You will ensure that our clients Health and Safety procedures are adhered to at all times.
You will ensure that company policy concerning Contractors Code of Business Ethics and Conduct (CCBEC) and Code of Business Ethics and Conduct (CBEC) is abided and disseminated. Violations must be reported in accordance with the policy/Business Management System.
Finally you will liaise with Fuel Section Managers / Supervisors and discuss any improvements to delivery schedules/procedures which could be beneficial to the company.

Qualifications

You will be an accomplished Aircraft Refueller with a knowledge of aviation operations and airfield rules and regulations. You will ideally have knowledge of bulk fuel distribution and all associated operational aspects of fuel storage and distribution within both aviation and vehicle fuel delivery environment.


You will have an HGV Driving Licence and ideally knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
You will have proven ability to work in remote, arduous locations, or a clearly expressed commitment to do so for a minimum 12 month period.
Past experience within Iraq, Pakistan or Afghanistan is highly beneficial as is working in any remote or isolated location.
You should possess excellent communication skills in English and ideally one other language, able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner and work to tight deadlines.
Superb communication skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.
You will be resourceful with a flexible outlook, have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities and be able to fit in to an international dynamic and multi-cultural environment. Finally you should possess basic pc / computer skills.

The basic salary is paid in US Dollars and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. For the first 3 months of employment the salary is 1,100 USD per month ( 13,300 USD pa ) from month 4 the salary increases to 1,300 per month ( 15,600 USD pa ) In addition there is an annual bonus payable equal to 2 months’ salary which is also paid in US Dollars and tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. Free shared accommodation and meals are provided. In addition you will have the use of a phone to call family and friends and also use of the internet for e-mails etc.
The work rota is the first rotation is 12 months in theatre followed by 4 weeks paid holiday. There after 6 months in theatre and 3 weeks paid holiday. In addition Ex-Patriate employees will receive paid return economy flights per year. Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are also paid for by our client.
