Job Summary

Pharmacy Manager is responsible for planning, implementation, supervision and monitoring of the pharmaceutical activities.
The pharmacy Manager is responsible for safe and proper storage and supply of medicine and medical equipments for the entire health facilities and main store.

Duties and Resposibilities

Overall responsibilities:

• Pharmacy Manager is responsible for planning, implementation, supervision and monitoring of the pharmaceutical activities.
• The pharmacy Manager is responsible for safe and proper storage and supply of medicine and medical equipments for the entire health facilities and main store.
• The Pharmacy Manager is responsible to provide technical trainings to the relevant staff of the project.
• Together with the logistic section hand over all medicine supply and medical equipments and check for their accuracy.
• Conduct training for the pharmacist of health facilities.
• Identify and report problems that interferes the delivery of services
• Ensure safe, clean and proper storage of all medicine and other medical equipments within the ware house.
• Attend coordination meetings related to pharmaceuticals issues.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly activity reports of the pharmacy unit
• Provide first aid kits for the office and emergency kits for the vehicles travelling around.
• Carry out any other task as assigned by supervisor


Specific responsibilities:

• Make sure that MDS standards considered and medicine supply arranged according to expiry date in stock.
• Take care of medical supplies according to standards
• Responsible to ensure the safe and proper storage and use of medicine in the health facilities.
• Responsible to distribute and monitors the drug consumptions in health facilities.
• Responsible to advise the staff of HFs on rational use of drugs.
• Make sure the inventory system of warehouse is organised and update.
• Make sure medicines are distributed in HFs according to prescriptions
• Make sure proper advice given to clients/ patients about reasonable use of medicine.
• Recording of medical supply in stock cards
• Inventory of stock on regular basis & recording of its result in stock cards
• Making quarterly supply request for health facilities
• Making winterization supply request for health facilities well ahead of time.
• Monitoring of medical supply quality & expiration date of supplies
• Checking of stock cards accuracy regularly
• Designing of stock according to standards
• Conducting on the job training for pharmacists of respective health facilities
• Prevention of supply spoilage by internal & external factors
• Especial care of those medicines need especial storage condition like vaccines, high price medicines & drugs with low flash point.
• Make sure pharmacists of HFs Report near to expired medicine at least 6 months in advance
• Removing & disposing of expired medicine

Qualification

• Graduated from faculty of Pharmacy
• Two years relevant experiences in drug management
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Good knowledge of computer and English language
• Good knowledge of MDS and RUD
