SAF was established in October 2005 by a number of innovative, expert and experienced Afghans as a multi-sectoral organization working in Health, Education, Agriculture and Social development sectors.

Job Summary

Duties and responsibilities are given below for more information,

Duties and Resposibilities

Implement a program for essential obstetric care in the area of coverage

ü Follow up with home visits to registered patients with pregnancy at risk

ü Provide family planning services to the women

ü Precise routines for proper sterilization of equipment and materials

ü Keep updated regarding the development in the field of midwifery

ü Examine and diagnose patients received in the health facility whenever convenient

ü Issue prescriptions, referrals and advices in conforming to examination and diagnoses

ü Fill the registry book, in continues manner (and while patient is present), recording all patient data, diagnosis, prescriptions, referrals, advises and other facts corresponding to examinations

ü Ensure the proper use and maintenance of equipment and material in the health facility

ü Give proper feed back to the health community based program(FCHWs) working in the area of health facility

ü Encourage the community based health workers and assist the community mobilize in the establishment of (female) community health committee

ü Accomplish other tasks requested by the supervisor

Qualification

Graduated from Institute of Health Science (HIS) or any registered Midwifery School
Scope of Work

Midwife is responsible to provide adequate midwifery services for the women attending the health facility. She must provide awareness about family planning to the mothers while consoling.
