Employee will serve as the Program Assistant in the Legal Education Section and will carry out duties designed to meet the objectives of the Program. Pursuant to DPK’s contract with USAID and reporting to the Senior Legal Education Advisor, Employee will have the following responsibilities:Duties and Resposibilities
• Support the Senior Legal Education Advisor, Legal Curriculum Advisor, Law Library/ Legal Research Advisor, Legal Skills Advisor, and Study Tours/ Scholarships Coordinator.• Support program activities related to capacity building of law schools, including curriculum reform, developing practical skills of law students, legal clinics, moot court, study tours, scholarships, and law libraries.
• Draft/ revise and provide input for monthly, quarterly, annual, and performance-based management system (PBMS) reports, ensuring appropriate inputs from local staff and/or international consultants.
• Edit consultant reports and other technical project deliverables in accordance with DPK style manual
• Draft or revise letters, project correspondence, memos, and teaching materials.
• Perform translation/ interpretation as needed.
• Help to organize conferences, roundtables, classes and meetings
• Ensure that project success stories are submitted to DPK home office within 5 days of event occurrence, including photographs where possible.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor
Qualification
EDUCATION High School graduation required; two-year or four year college degree desirable.EXPERIENCE Prior experience in an equivalent or substantially similar position in justice system agency, NGO, international organization or USAID-funded project preferred.
SKILLS Excellent management and administrative skills. Interpersonal skills, including ability to listen and respect others. Self-motivated and well organized. Ability to work collaboratively and supportively with others. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility and willingness to travel to the provinces and work irregular hours as required completing program assignments.
