About Zardozi
Zardozi - Markets for Afghan Artisans (formerly the DACAAR Sewing Centre) has provided marketing support services to homebound Afghan women embroiderers since 1984. Since 2008, Zardozi has been implementing a female commission agent system whereby women working from home access local markets through mobile female commission agents (known as sale agents). Over the past two years, Zardozi has focused on recruiting and developing the capacity of sale agents and the skills of home workers, encouraging women to trade in finished products, facilitating product development and leveraging informal sales networks. Zardozi has newly established a home workers’ and sale agents’ Guild that will continue to not only support sale agents and home workers but also engage in subsector growth and development.Zardozi’s vision for the Guild includes providing regionally adjusted support services to women throughout Afghanistan over the next decade. At present, Zardozi works in Kabul, Jalalabad and Mazar. Over the coming 3 to 5 years Zardozi plans to expand to two additional regions – Herat and Kandahar.
Job Summary
The Regional Manager is responsible for the implementation of the project according to the project contract and documentation and for all day to day administration and finances related to the projectDuties and Resposibilities
Projects Implementation and supervision1.Implement planned work so as to achieve agreed milestones and out put.
Liaison
1.Liaise with government offices and representatives as necessary to ensure smooth running of the project.
2.Represent Zardozi in local and regional networks so as to ensure high profit for Zardozi and high level of cooperation with other agencies and project particularly HNI and NSP FPs.
3.Cooperate with donors so as to maintain good relations and transparency
Monitoring and Reporting
4.Prepare progress reports in time manner as per contract documents
5.Prepare project reports as per agreement with program Director.
Training
1.Arrange training according to agreement with program Director and project documents
2.Manage implementation of training, monitor implementation and evaluate results.
Finances
1.Mange all expenditure as agreed with program Director and within the project budget
2.Control cash and monitor expenditure according to Zardozi accounting rules
Administration
1.Manage all day to day administration activities for the smooth running of office.
2.Keep close eyes on submitting the tax, arranging on support to the staff etc
