The Civil Society Intern will provide support to the Civil Society Team by performing a variety of tasks. The Civil Society Intern will gain exposure in gender mainstreaming, civil society tasks, community governance, and economic development programs.Duties and Resposibilities
Work closely with the Civil Society Manager/CLIN2 Advisor/COP to provide technical assistance and support gender mainstreaming activities and civil society related tasks within all RAMP UP programs in assigned areas.Create a database and record the number of SDAG members including men and women; document changes in the status of the women served over the life of the program; and other program impacts on women who have participated in the program.
Keep record of complaints from Service Delivery Advisory Group, Project Beneficiary Group in regard to projects from all municipalities through Municipal Team Leaders and Public Administration Advisors.
Assist with increasing the number of women participation and membership in SDAGs and municipal decision making,
Support Communication, M&E with the information and data regarding SDAG meetings, PBG meetings, number of male and female participants in the meetings if needed,
Assist with translating of some documents from English into Dari and Dari into English,
Preparing, editing, and filing reports, Civil Society related training materials, and other documents as needed,
Attend SDAG and PBG meetings and events to assist in co-facilitating and taking notes as needed,
Help with data entry,
Performing other duties as required/assigned.
Qualification
Currently involved in a full-time University program in a relevant academic discipline, with course work in statistics, social sciences, economics, and/or computer literacy an advantage.Interest and knowledge of human rights, gender issues, and women’s rights.
Fluency in English and Dari (spoken and written); Uzbek language proficiency preferred in appropriate municipalities.
Excellent presentation and report writing skills.
Proficient in MS Office and internet applications.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate.
Demonstrated interest in development and/or local government.
