About Afghan Midwives AssociationSupport Project (HSSP) will provide technical and financial support to the Afghan Midwives Association to transition from a voluntary organization to a self managed organization. In the fall of 2010, supported by HSSP, the AMA will increase it’s organizational leadership, governance and management structure to include a management team of eight full-time core staff, four voluntary Technical Advisors and a Board of Directors with former AMA president Pashtoon Azfar as it’s the chair. During this transition period, the AMA executive committee will remain as volunteers with one day a week dedicated in the AMA office. With increased donor support in operational year 2011-2012 the executive committee positions will transition to the executive director, deputy director and program officer of the AMA national office.
Beginning with only 80 members in 2005, the Afghan Midwives Association (AMA) has grown to over 1,600 professional midwives and student members from 32 provincial chapters in 2010. Increasing donor support has steadily expanded the number of AMA implemented activities to raise awareness for safe motherhood and improve the quality of midwifery education and health service provision.

Duties and ResponsibilitiesEnsure functioning of server computer, network, firewall, access points, routers, hubs, printers, UPSs, stabilizers
Secure the networks, cleaning out all computers, and fixing all virus problems
Restrict office internet networks from outside intrusion,
Configure official email addresses
Operate system installations, MS Office and Open Office installations
Configure of outlook email accounts for the staff and helping them for the using of outlook emailing system
Support staff in terms of using office equipment’s (printer, scanner, CD writing sys, photo copy machine)
Provide IT support, services all staff members.
Upgrade Association’s website
uploads daily News and reports
develop Database and maintain Members Records
QualificationHigh school graduated, university degree is preferable
Familiarization in web designing and development
Team work spirit
Good interpersonal and communication skill
Minimum 3-5 experience in IT
Fluent in English speaking and writing
SkillsStrong organizational and analytical skills
Language(s) requiredDari , Pashto , English
