About ARC (All Resource Construction)All Resource Construction Company (ARC) is a private construction company established under the Afghan law in Afghanistan Investment Support Agency (AISA). The purpose of ARC is to support the reconstruction of Afghanistan by providing civil engineering services to the various international organizations willing to restore peace, stability, social welfare and economical growth in the country.
Job SummaryTo work with ARC’s construction projects as a civil engineer and survey, design, implementation, monitoring and provision of projects.
Duties and Responsibilities•Perform engineering duties in planning, designing, and overseeing construction and maintenance of building structures, and facilities, such as roads, railroads, bridges, channels, irrigation projects, pipelines, water and sewage systems, and waste disposal units.
•Design, creation and maintenance of infrastructure in the built and natural environments surrounding us. The discipline takes in towers, railway lines, highways, tunnel and bridges, as well as water courses and sewage systems.
•Managing budgets, approving project drawings and reports, overseeing orders and delivery of equipment, taking care of any changes a client wants to make, resolving problems and ensuring that work is completed on time and within budget.
• Planning the work and efficiently organizing the plant and site facilities in order to meet agreed deadlines.
•Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and safety or sanitation standards.
•Direct construction, operations, and maintenance activities at project site.
•Direct or participate in surveying to lay out installations and establish reference points, grades, and elevations to guide construction.
•Overseeing quality control, health and safety matters on site.
•Manage and direct staff members and the construction, operations, or maintenance activities at project site.
•Preparing reports as required.
•Accomplish any other relevant tasks and duties assigned by the senior managers
•Checking plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations.
•Ensuring that all materials used and work performed are as per specifications.
•Overseeing the selection and requisition of materials and plant.
•Managing, monitoring and interpreting the contract design documents supplied by the client.
•Day-to-day management of the site, including supervising and monitoring the site labor force and the work of any subcontractor
Qualification•B.Sc. in Civil Engineering
•Minimum 3 years of experience
•Familiarity with concrete buildings will be preferred
•Language fluency in English and Dari in speaking, understanding and writing
Skills•The civil engineer must be persuasive in written and oral communication, and have a good grasp of science, math and technology, relevant law and health and safety matters, With project timescales often tight, the ability to meet deadlines is also important. Excellent interpersonal and team-working skills, including and ability to relate to senior managers/leaders and other colleagues and other related organizations, Have the ability to work for long hours and under pressure.
