Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure that the communication products are strategic, geared to the achievement of project development objectives and targets.
Organize ongoing consultations with all governmental and non-governmental stakeholders, including partnering donors of the project, to capture stakeholder views and feedback on the AAIP concept, project implementation modalities and issues.
Develop a workable communication strategy in line with the project needs
Refine and revise the strategy from time to time as necessary, based on internal evaluation of the work and impact of the unit and feedback from the stakeholders.
To plan, implement and monitor the communication strategy and action plan.
Oversee and lead production of broadcast communication products for and on AAIP.
Produce print communication products for and on AAIP.
Redefine the communication goals; the primary, secondary and tertiary audiences to be reached, and revisit the focus of the communication products accordingly.
Arrange, coordinate and manage the media coverage for any large and/or important AAIP event/gathering/occasion.
On a regular basis, produce outreach materials such as newsletters, brochure or pamphlet with limited number of copies with updated AAIP program progress information, for distribution as required.
Coordinate printing of AAIP posters and leaflets and other outreach products as required.
Institutionalize a system of regular public consultations, conferences, workshops
Guide the AAIP in carrying-out regular awareness and perception of the program effectiveness assessments
Preparing and developing work plans in coordination with responsible existing unit heads (seed, agrochemicals, etc).
Facilitate communication and the flow of information among the staff at HQ and regional and provincial offices and internal and external partners nationwide.
Coordinate AAIP communications activities with MAIL media and public relations department as well as other MAIL programs
Supervise the strategic planning of communication campaigns and ensure the coordination of the workflow between units, from research, creation and production to media/activities planning and implementation.
Set-up feedback and evaluation mechanisms to ensure that communication objectives are reached and to improve the efficiency of the communication campaigns.
• Excellent report writing and communication, and facilitation, and interpersonal skills, social marketing or mass media or development communications media
•University degree from recognized institutions in mass communications, development communications, journalism or agricultural extension, marketing or related fields
•At least 3 years of professional experience in information and communications, social marketing, journalism or public relations
•Practical experience in design and management of public relations, social marketing or mass media or development communications media
