GEO-CHEM Middle East is a multinational fuel testing company which is operating in 37 countries of the globe. GEO-CHEM Middle East is registered with Afghanistan Investment Support Agency (AISA), under License No. I – 11999. GEO-CHEM Middle East started its operations in Afghanistan in October 2012 through a contract with Afghanistan National Standard Authority (ANSA) of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to test fuel, lubrications and gas entering to Afghanistan for quality control. GEO-CHEM Middle East’s main office is located in Kabul while sites offices are established in the seven ports/borders in the compound of Afghanistan’s border custom houses.

The Head Quarter is located in Dubai City, United Arab Emirate (UAE).

Job Summary

Provide assistance to the all internally related ICT plans, queries or issues. This includes acting as the first point of contact for all staff, logging problems and queries, finding resolutions or recognizing and potentially diagnosing a problem to signpost for specialist support where appropriate, including referral to ICT with ICT maintenance contractors.

Duties and Responsibilities

a) IT Part:
• To make sure all ICT equipment/systems of head office and site offices are always functional;
• To troubleshoot all ICT problems both in hard and soft;
• To arrange to repair the ICT equipment in market in case it cannot be repaired in office;
• To update the websites of the company;
• To provide hardware and software technical support;
• To prepare LAN and WAN services;
• To install, set up and certify compliance with standards and specifications of new hardware and software in offices;
• To establish and configure email exchange server and data backup system in the office;
• To support in regard to contracts services related to ICT support;
• Ensures effective functioning and maintenance of services and servers;
a. Domain Controller (DC) Server
b. DHCP/DNS Server
c. File/Print Server
d. Web portal Server

• Ensure effective functioning of mail server;
• Ensure that mail server is functioning during weekend and any holiday;
• Monitor network services performance, traffic, & internet usage;
• Ensure ISP delivers the internet services according to the quality and the capacity committed in the contract;
• Improve network services & performance;
• Ensure that software applications are up to date and licenses are valid;
• Ensure that data can be recovered at any point from the backup tapes. Run disaster recovery simulation;
• Ensure that all emails and data are secured and backed up regularly;
• To develop an ICT policy based on the existed one and ensure the policy implemented/applied equally on all staff;
• To make sure staff are not using the blocked pages;
• Ensure that network login ID, email address and access rights provided to new employee immediately;
• Support implementation of IT based modern solutions to facilitate the business;
• Support implementation of modern information technology techniques to reduce organization technology cost;
• Prepare technical specification for procurement of new equipment;
• Provision of graphic designing and web management supports;
• Provide graphic designing support when required;
• Provide web content management when required;
• To visit the site offices when required;
• To do any other tasks assigned from time to time by supervisor;

b) Liaison Part:
• To arrange visa, work permit, passports and other travel documents;
• To arrange and book tickets both offline and online;
• To do customer clearance for any shipments;
• To arrange to transport the shipments/equipment to the sites;
• To coordinate/cooperate with site offices regarding any related issues;
• To do any other tasks assigned from time to time by supervisor;

Travels to Provinces

• Good knowledge of English and local languages speaking, reading and writing;
• Ability to communicate in a cross cultural environment;
• Effective communicator and well-tempered;
• To be able to work under pressure and deadlines;
• Knowledge of MS Office, XHTML, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, PHP, Database and Internet;
• Honest and accountable;


• Bachelor’s degree in computer science i.e. BCS, BCA, BIT;
• Other qualifications’ an advantage: Microsoft Certificated (MCITP) and Cisco Certified (CCNA);
• At least 2-3 years of experience in Information Technology field in any national/international organizations and 1 year of experience in Liaison;
