About Ministry of Public Health

Background: The MoPH-SM is a unit in the Ministry of Public Health responsible for the implementation of BPHS and EPHS in three provinces of Afghanistan such as Parwan, Panjshir and Kapisa. At the meantime, the MOPH-SM is implementing Community Nursing Education (CHNE) Program for SM’s three provinces.

Job Summary

1. To monitor and supervise all CBHC relevant activities
2. To prepare a work plan and monitor four elements of CBHC in the province (CHW, CHS, FHAG, Health Committees)
3. Coordinate resources and facilities for CHWs and CHS’ trainings, workshops and seminars with training teams

Duties and Responsibilities

1. To monitor and supervise all CBHC relevant activities
2. To prepare a work plan and monitor four elements of CBHC in the province (CHW, CHS, FHAG, Health Committees)
3. Coordinate resources and facilities for CHWs and CHS’ trainings, workshops and seminars with training teams
4. Provide on-the-job trainings to CHWs, CHSs and community members where necessary
5. Try his best to point out problems in health care provision at community level. Discuss and coordinate it with community leaders and PHO office to tackle the obstacles and improve health care provision
6. Actively participant in program management meetings when invited (Shura meeting, PHCC meetings, HMIS committee meetings, Emergency preparedness meetings, CBHC meetings)
7. Review, compile and report monthly CBHC reports to provincial health office
8. Experience better coordination with relevant NGOs
9. Assess CBHC program needs and resources and provide report to provincial health office and SM to ensure that program need are satisfied on time
10. Organize and facilitate CBHC sub committees’ meeting at provincial level and actively participate in national CBHC meeting when invited]
11. Review monthly HMIS data of CHWs and CHSs and provide feedback for improving the reporting data
12. Plan individual and collective monitoring visits with other project staff to improve CBHC program of the province. Participate in surveys planned and are relevant to CBHC programs
13. Could analyze CBHC data and reports and provide feedback to CHWs and CHSs when he meets them on regular bases
14. Follow-up and monitor incentives provided by other NGOS to CHWs to see if it meets MoPH incentive policies and standards
15. Establish and improve working relationship between NGOS working in the field and PHOs
16. Other activities asked by national CBHC program coordinator

Skills

Have excellent knowledge and skills of working with Microsoft software (Word, Excel, Power point
9. Have good knowledge and familiarity of how to use internet for office communication
10. Have the knowledge and skills of reporting his activities report and HMIS data

Qualifications

1. The candidate should have an MD degree in medicine or Graduated from a valid Nursing Institute in Afghanistan
2. The candidate should have at least 2 years of working experience in CBHC programs
3. Have additional experience of management, monitoring and evaluation of CBHC program
4. TO believe in community prominent role in improving health care in Afghanistan
5. TO have the ability and willingness to travel to all areas of the related province
6. Have a good knowledge and writing skills of communicating in national languages (Dari, Pashtu) and English language
7. Have excellent knowledge and skills of communication
8. Have excellent knowledge and skills of working with Microsoft software (Word, Excel, Power point
9. Have good knowledge and familiarity of how to use internet for office communication
10. Have the knowledge and skills of reporting his activities report and HMIS data
