Welthungerhilfe it is one of Germany's biggest non-governmental relief organizations. Non-profit making, politically independent and non-denominational, the organization is run by a Supervisory Board of honorary members under the patronage of the President of the Federal Republic of Germany. Its work is funded by private donations and public grants. Welthungerhilfe is working since the 1980’s continuously in Afghanistan and opened the first offices in 1992. Since this time Welthungerhilfe has implemented some 165 project in Afghanistan. Main fields of Welthungerhilfe intervention in Afghanistan are emergency relief, food and nutrition security, rural and regional development and water and sanitation.

Duties and Responsibilities
Assists Regional Manager (RM) ,Security Manager (SM) and Security Officer (SO) in collecting, updating and communicating information regarding the security situation in the region; Assists in maintaining the Security Plan for official staff trip; Organizes and delivers training courses on security awareness and preparedness; Provides general administrative assistance to the SO. Liaises and coordinates, as appropriate, with the government security organizations and/or personnel, including national and local provincial authorities, military, and police officers, as well as non-governmental organizations and other non-State actors in the area of operation; Maintains regular contacts with Security Focal Points of other organization; Supports actions during the implementation of the Security Plan, as required; Maintains routine and confidential correspondence files/documentation; Assisting in all aspects of planning, managing performance of assigned security assistants in the field; Assist area coordinators in ensuring that all security assistants positions are executing their responsibilities efficiently and effectively; Assess performance of security personnel and ensure proper behavior of all designated security personnel on and off duty; Monitoring the correct functioning and physical presence of security relevant communications equipment: mobile phones, satellite phones, VHFs including battery, credit, technical check, as needed; Assuming responsibility for guard management; Monitors and evaluates office/ residences physical security measures, and conducts security surveys of installations and facilities; implements security arrangements; Checking monthly office first aid kits, fire extinguishers, safe rooms supplies and monthly safe room drills and ensuring the same procedures follow by security assistants in the project offices; Ensuring all new staff are accurately briefed on security related issues and ensure that all staff follow security procedures; Ensuring that WHH AFG security management plans, SOPs , CPs are relevant and constantly updated by country office and all staff know their roles and responsibilities; Monitoring and overseeing the driver and guards pool adherence to security related issues, SOPs and SMT decisions, in close coordination with the logistics department and management team

· Education level: University Degree Experience: · 3 years’ experience in security, preferably in the military, police context, or related field of work. Prior experience with an INGO is desirable. Language Requirements: · Fluency in English & the national language of the duty station. Other Skills and Requirements: · Knowledge of HF and VHF radio operation; · Knowledge of Afghanistan rules/regulations; High command of: computers skills (MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, outlook, Adobe Acrobat and deal with web-based sites); · Ability to travel; · Excellent writing skills; · Physically fit.
