Duties and Responsibilities

 Manage plant operation to achieve optimum production.
 Manage shift task allocation.
 Ensure time and attendance records are completed.
 Monitor raw and mixed reagent stock levels.
 Manage plant feeding regime.
 Report all plant failures for rectification.
 Manage water levels.
 Train plant operators and assistants.


 This is a physically demanding position including some of the following:
o Heavy Lifting
o Working in wet conditions.
o Extended working hours from time to time.
o Working in elevated temperatures.
o Working in confined spaces.
 Analytical and problem solving skills.
 Record keeping and reporting skills.
 Strong management and organizational skills.
 Self-directed and motivated
 Strong interpersonal communication skills


 A Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering will be advantageous.
 Three years plant operations experience with at least two at supervisory level.
 A grade 12 qualification is preferred.
