About ( Ministry of Agriculture) AAIP Project
Building on the Agriculture Master Plan, the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan (GoA) in collaboration with its development partners has defined a number of appropriate priorities for agricultural investments and policies under the National Agricultural Development Framework (NADF). In order to increase farmers' incomes and improve the food security situation, the GoA is giving foremost attention to strengthening of the agricultural production base. In this respect the government has asked the World Bank for assistance in strengthening agricultural input supply Systems. Specifically, the GoA has requested the World Bank for assistance in the preparation of the Afghanistan Agriculture Inputs Project (AAIP) that will consist of the following four components: (i) Improve seed production and certification; (ii) Establish infrastructure and policies regarding quality control and safe use of fertilizers and agrochemicals; (iii) Improve input delivery systems; and (iv) Establish efficient project management, implementation and coordination mechanisms.
The development objective of AAIP project is to increase adoption of improved crop production technologies through expanding development of certified seeds and improving access to agricultural inputs of reliable quality
The Agrochemicals Trainer will be working under the guidance and direct supervision of PPQD Coordinator and will perform the following duties and responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities
Delivery of training on various aspects of Pesticides, Fertilizers and Plant Quarantine for DAIL staff, farmers, extension workers and agrochemical traders/handlers.
Preparation of plan for conduction of training in the target region on the safe use of pesticides, fertilizers and importance of Plant Quarantine in pest management.
Training of DAIL staff, farmers and agrochemical traders in their own language in light of Afghanistan Pesticides, fertilizer and Plant Quarantine Acts.
Collection of materials for better delivery of presentation to farmers, DAIL staff and agrochemical traders in coordination with the technical coordinator and training coordinator/officer.
Be familiar with the commonly applicable pesticides in national as well as international level to advise farmers on the safe use of pesticides for protection of their health and environment
Provide the advisory services to agrochemical staff/plant quarantine in registration procedures of pesticides in light of Afghanistan Agrochemical Act
Ensure the overall planning, implementation, coordination and quality assurance of all plans training under the Agrochemical and Plant Quarantine Network
Assist the M&E in proper monitoring of technical progress and performance of plan training of Agrochemical and Plant Quarantine Unit
Preparation of publication materials like broachers, factsheets etc on the safe use of pesticides, storing and its proper disposal to reduce the risk of pesticides associated to human and environment.
Preparation of Pesticides Registration Manual for Agriculture pesticides importer, distributor or manufacturer in assistance with International Agrochemical cum Plant Protection Advisor in reviewing the Afghanistan Pesticide Act and international rules and regulation in the selected discipline.
Any other task assign by the Project Director or Coordinator

Require Travels to Provinces
Master’s Degree in Agrochemicals/ Plant Protection/ Entomology or Plant Pathology with minimum of 3 years working/ training experience in the area of pesticides administration, pesticides registration and any other plant protection disciplines./ OR
B.Sc in Agrochemicals/ Plant Protection/ Entomology or Plant Pathology with minimum of 5years working/ training experience in the aforementioned areas or other plant protection disciplines are essential for this position to apply.
