Gender Assistant is responsible to assist Gender’s Head of department with her daily routine, likes of typing various documents, bookkeeping of important documents, prepare conferences, and workshop agendas.

Duties and Responsibilities
1- Assist the Gender specialist to Contribute to the implementation of the activities towards gender mainstreaming in the Ministry of Mines and support Ministry in conducting gender analysis for the projects and develop gender tools, frameworks, guidelines and monitoring systems;
2- Assist to Carry out assessment of existing capacity among the female staff in the Ministry and prepare strategies for their capacity enhancement
3- Develop knowledge sharing products and participate in advocacy initiatives;
4- Assist to Organize and contribute to workshops on gender mainstreaming issues for Ministry staff and partners;
5- Assist the Gender Department in its role as a focal point for the gender development issues and in preparing gender related reports;
6- Assist the gender specialist to Identify and document gender issues related to natural resources sector and alternative livelihoods for women in project areas;
7- Carry out activities for the mainstreaming gender issues in the different projects of the Ministry;
8- Assist the gender specialist to Coordinate with stakeholders Government as well as civil society for gender mainstreaming issues in the Ministry;
9- Assist in organizing meetings, workshops on gender issues in the Ministry;
10- Assist in developing gender responsive M & E mechanisms and indicators;
11- Undertake other duties as directed by his/her supervisor.

• The candidate must have excellent analytical and drafting skills, ability to listen, be a team player as well as having management skills.
• Minimum of 12th Grade school Certificate is required, Bachelor is preferred.
• At least 4 year related experience for 12th Grade and 2 years for bachelor.
• Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
• Able to produce reports and other standards documents up to a professional standard Fluency in English (written and spoken), Pashto and Dari, local language proficiency is desirable.
