Branches Monitoring & Follow-up Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring that appropriate policies and procedures regarding the AML/CFT in branches are communicated and followed properly in accordance with the highest standards of integrity. The Branches Monitoring & Follow-up Compliance Officer is responsible for oversight of the branches compliance with applicable rules and regulations. The ranches Monitoring & Follow-up Officer maintains appropriate control systems and compliance functions as a whole and report to Dy. Chief Compliance Officer /CCO on compliance AML/CFT issues.

Duties and Responsibilities
Regular visits of the branches (Kabul City as well as Provincial Branches). Ensure that all compliance related works are properly handled in branches as instructed by the regulators.
Monitor and follow up all new existing account files which are already reviewed / noted by compliance and ensure that the missing information/documents noted by compliance are completed accordingly.
Monitoring Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs) and other High Risk customer’s accounts, transactions and activities, (timely and Annually) as required and taking note background of the customers, such as the country of origin and source of funds, the type of transactions involved, and other risk factors throughout the branches and report to Dy. Chief Compliance Officer/ Chief Compliance Officer.
Monitoring daily all transactions of the branches.
Review and update risk categorization of all the clients’ and properly marked accounts as per the policy of the compliance.
Review and monitoring for suspicious activities & transactions and obtain documentary proof of suspicious transactions.
Train the branches staff for the compliance AML/CFT matters where they are not cleared on.
Monitor and follow up the KYC updating of records and ensure that the existing Customers KYC forms are exactly and timely updated in accordance with the requirement of the bank AML/CFT Policy and Procedure in Operation.
Need to follow up the DAB Inspection team, IA or any other External Audit observations on compliance department at the branch level to be implemented accordingly.
Make sure direct customer dealing officer is conducting proper CDD whiling opening account with the PB.
Insure every account during opening is properly screened or checked with the sanctioned list in system. Assisting Dy. Compliance Officer/Chief Compliance Officer with queries related to the compliance matter or any non-compliance at the branches level.
Give the documents to ‘Operational Compliance Officer’ for the effective record keeping of all compliance related issues in the branches.
Check and control of proper filing system on the compliance related matter e.g. reports submitted to the compliance department relates to SRT or any other matter.
Do other colleague’s relevant works in case of absence.
Carry out any other tasks as given by Dy. Chief Compliance Officer / Chief Compliance Officer.
Travels to Provinces
Require Travels to Provinces
Working knowledge of a financial institution’s policies and procedures;
Demonstrated knowledge of Afghan bank laws and regulations;
The ability to understand and apply banking regulations, interpret government financial regulations and legal documents.
Ability to proactively deal with any regulatory issues
Strong presentation and leadership skills;
Ability to effectively report information and respond to managers, customers and write procedure manuals as requested.
High ethical standards and integrity in professional dealings.
Commitment to identifying compliance solutions that meet business needs while ensuring adherence to applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Banking Business related field or law degree or higher.
3-5 years experience as regulatory compliance officer in a financial institution.
