About Afghan Social Marketing Organization (ASMO)

The Afghan Social Marketing Organization (ASMO) is a social marketing and behavioral change communication organization established in August 2008. ASMO as a free-standing, not-for-profit Afghan organization aims to create positive health outcomes by giving Afghan households the information they need to make informed and healthy choices and expanding access to high quality health products through commercial markets.

Vision: ASMO’s vision is to serve as a “partner for a better life” in Afghanistan where families (especially women and children) and communities are empowered to protect and improve their health and social well-being; where markets for health products are vibrant and expanding; and where consumer awareness of healthy choices, access to affordable health products and social services steadily improves and is increasingly sustainable.
Mission: ASMO strives to design and implement effective and integrated health and social issue marketing interventions intended to improve the overall well-being of the country's population, especially women and children, while stimulating and increasing private commercial sector participation.

Job Summary

The National Training Coordinator is responsible for the overall management of training program for school teachers and front line health volunteers in 20 provinces under the direct supervision of the Executive Director. S/he will lead the process of developing training materials (curriculum/job aids) and obtaining approvals from the relevant department(s) of line ministries. He works closely with ASMO Social Marketing, M&E and Procurement Departments to ensure smooth implementation of training activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop training plan as per the project requirements and targets
• Develop training curriculums, job aids and other necessary materials
• Lead the establishment of training centers in five regions (Kandahar, Kabul, Herat, Balkh and Nangarhar)
• Recruit required number of trainers in each region in collaboration with HR Department
• Conduct Training of the Trainers (TOT) for newly hired trainers
• Liaise with line ministries (Ministries of Health and Education), NGOs and implementing partners at central, regional and provincial levels
• Oversee training sessions in all regions and monitor progress against the plan
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual technical reports of the project
• Adhere to ASMO policies and procedures

• Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods and techniques
• MS Office proficiency
• Advanced organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments
• Strong communication skills
• Advanced English language skills (verbal/written)
• Excellent analytical skills
• Must be strategic thinker and problem solver

Qualifications

Education:

Medical degree from a registered medical university with a master degree in public health or business administration

Work Experience:
• At least five year work experience in managing training programs with national and/or international organization
• Hands-on experience coordinating/conducting multiple training events
• Experience in developing training materials (curriculum/job aids)
• Proven ability to complete full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate)
