About Office of Senior Advisor to the President of Afghanistan, Banking and Finance
The Office of Senior Advisor to the President on Banking and Finance is responsible for formulating the overall economic strategic goals of the government. It accomplishes this objective through four work streams: (1) coordinating policy-making for domestic and international economic issues, (2) coordinating economic policy advice for the President, (3) ensuring that policy decisions are consistent with the President’s economic goals and (4) monitoring implementation of the president’s economic policy agenda.
The Financial Analyst will be responsible for conducting complex financial analysis to support the Office of Senior Advisor with business plan evaluation and help state owned enterprises to improve their financial planning and reporting. He/She will work with the Finance team to prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting and is supervised by the senior financial analyst.

Duties and Responsibilities
1- Perform financial reporting, ad-hoc project analyses, and financial modeling
2- Analyze current and past corporate financial information and prepare complex financial models to analyze data
3- Conduct evaluations of investment proposals and business plans by using appropriate corporate finance tools
4- Evaluate state owned enterprises in terms of management and operations and make suggestions to improve their financial planning
5- Build capex models for state owned enterprises to reactivate the enterprises and improve their production capacity
6- Work with state owned enterprises to identify areas for improvements (this may require traveling to various cities through Afghanistan)
7-Conduct case studies for investment projects where appropriate
8- Communicate with government and private sector stakeholders and prepare reports and summaries
9- Develop ad-hoc business analysis and present recommendations to Senior Advisor on strategic decisions
Fluent in written and spoken Dari/Pashto and English.
Competency with Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
A Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration or a closely related field. Preference will be given to Master’s degree holders.
At least 3 years of relevant experience. Preference will be given to candidates with additional years of experience.
