Duties and Responsibilities

 Recording of all sample refer to lab for testing purpose
 Preparation of samples according to the lab protocol for lab analysis
 Keep on operation and calibration of equipment like autoclave, LFU, Incubator, Spectrophotometer, Shaker etc when needed
 Preparation of media for culturing of food -borne microorganism
 Preparation of inventory list of all chemicals in the lab
 Co-operation with the lab supervisor/National Food Microbiologist in testing samples for food- borne microorganisms
 Improving the lab hygienic condition and safety measures for all
 Maintenance of food-borne microorganism culture bank in assistance with the National Food Microbiologist
 Survey for sample to be tested for food- borne contaminants from market, flour mills, storehouses and food processing companies.
 Proper disinfection of sample after testing
 Any other task assign by Project Director or lab supervisor

Skills

 Expertise in the use of laboratory equipments and proper handling of samples
 Aware from the chemical and equipments hazardous effect in improper usage
 Good communication and inter personal relation
 Willing to work in difficult and challenging circumstances
 Good knowledge of computer (MS Word, MS Excel and MS Power point)
 Proficient in English, Pashto and Dari, in speaking, reading and writing
 Able to work independently

Qualifications

 B.Sc in Food Microbiology, Food Science and Technology and Bio-chemistry with minimum of 3 years working experience in the area of Lab workwill be preferred.
 Experience in working the laboratory
