Action Contre la Faim (ACF) is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) that was created in France in 1979. ACF has been active in Afghanistan in the medical, nutrition, food security, water and sanitation and Mental Health fields since 1995.

Job Summary

Duties and Responsibilities

Objective 1: Assist the field coordinator in the analyse of the political, economic, social, security and humanitarian context of the area:
• Collect and share analysis with the field coordinator
• Participate in the compilation and writing of reports linked to the context.
• Participate or support the field coordinator in meetings with authorities, other relief and development actors
• Support the field coordinator in the establishment of contact with all parties of the conflict, and support the preservation of the humanitarian space
• Inform the field coordinator for all relevant information linked to the evolution of the context
• Implement a close follow-up with all members of the team to collect information linked to the context
• Participate in security meetings and brings valuable inputs
• Write on regular basis (to be define according to the reporting set-up) reports linked to the context

Objective 2: Assist the field coordinator in the daily management of the base

• Support the field coordinator in the management of supports departments (logistic, admin, finance and Human resources
• Support the field coordinator in the management of programs departments
• Participate in the compilation and writing of reports linked to the context.
• Participate or support the field coordinator in meetings with authorities, other relief and development actors, and elders
• Support the field coordinator in the establishment of contact with all parties of the conflict, and support the preservation of the humanitarian space
• Inform the field coordinator for all relevant information linked to the evolution of the context
• Implement a close follow up of local and regional dynamics and provide regular analysis to the field coordinator
• Be a support for the respect of humanitarian principles in the implementation of programs

Objective 3: Assist of the field coordinator in the understanding of the humanitarian context and development of the strategy
• Regarding his knowledge of the area, and its ability to collect information on the humanitarian situation, to actively participate on ACF strategy
• Participate in the follow-up of programs and humanitarian activities by making regular field visit and close monitoring of activities on-going.
• To support the field coordinator in the development of the humanitarian strategy
• Anticipate as much as possible modification in the humanitarian context in order to re orientate programs if needed

Objective 4: AOB
• Replace the field coordinator in his absence
• Maintaining efficient network towards the humanitarian community
• Could act as a liaison officer between authorities, staffs, communities, actors and the field coordinator if needed or requested

Skills

Intercultural management

Qualifications

Degree in political science, economics business management, development studies, agriculture, water and sanitation, nutrition or equivalent
