Priorities of MCIT:
• To deliver the Telecom and IT services to remote areas throughout the country
• To supply high speed internet to the people in Afghanistan
• To design, develop and deploy the technical platform of the National Identity Card (NID) and provide ide technical assistance to the Ministry of Interior (MoI) on the successful implementation of project"
• To extend the fiber optic network in the country
• To replace the existing analogue television (TV) broadcasting systems by digital TV broadcasting systems in the country and tighten regulations for broadcasting companies
• To enhance the capacity of the Afghan government by introducing the concept of e-Government and encourage all the ministries to integrate ICT within their main work

Duties and Responsibilities

• Managing MW links under MCIT-ANDC and Internet Ethernet links, Access link and Switches interconnectivity
• Should have knowledge of survey and converge planning for both Optical fiber and MW.
• Ensure the operation and maintenance activities in transmission links.
• Ability to plan, design, configures and troubleshoots microwave equipment.
• Testing of antenna and wireless systems for the purpose of fault finding and rectification.
• Manage ISP’s connectivity through FIBER or Microwave to NIXA Platform.
• Should be full understanding of FIBER network and Microwave.
• Continually monitor transmission network interconnectivity routes and gateways.
• Keep an updated and detailed inventory of all live transmission routes and hops.
• Keep an updated and detailed inventory of all transmission spares and ensure that all transmission network spare requirements are met.
• Ensure continuous operation and monitoring of wireless links to ensure all sites are up and running.
• Analyzes and corrects antenna and other system problems by making adjustments and corrections
• Provide on-site support for installation, troubleshoot and commissioning of MW & Fiber optics.
• Ensure that network infrastructure is secure and available all the time.
• Maintaining all documentation concerns with MW Licenses.
• Provide necessary planning daily and weekly report to the management.
• Any other tasks assigned by department

Skills

• Transmission equipment installation, maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
• Practical and theoretical knowledge in E1s, optical fibers, optical multiplexers, radio equipment and equipment.
• Knowledge in transmission design tools.

Qualifications

- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or electrical Engineering
- Microwave /Transmission Engineer/ Optical Fiber Engineer
- 5 Years of Practical Experience in Field of Transmission (Fiber/Microwave)
