Social and Educational services Organization (SESO) is an independent, non-profit organization that aims to empower Afghan society by offering social and educational services, especially to marginalized and under-represented populations.

Job Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Project Manager, the Provincial Manager is responsible for the overall management and running of the SESO’s educational advising center in Herat province. The educational advising center in Herat will include a TOEFL iBT testing center, a library and training facility. The incumbent will be responsible for the day to day operation of the center and for helping administer TOEFL iBT tests, conducting outreach, providing education advising, career advising and English language classes.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for the overall operation of the center;
• Manage all operational activities of the center including staffing, facilities, classes, outreach and advising;
• Manage subordinate staff and instructors in the day-to-day performance of their jobs
• Responsible for maintaining the center resources to meet the needs of the patrons;
• Responsible for administering the TOEFL iBT tests according to SESO and ETS requirements;
• Conduct outreach and advising to educational institutions, libraries and other relevant institutions to promote the services of the center;
• Manage the center, responsible for daily opening/closing and maintaining scheduled hours of operation;
• Plan, organize and execute logistics support activities such as maintenance planning, repair analysis, and test equipment recommendations;
• Provide Weekly Activity Report, and Monthly Expenditure Report;
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor;

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in field of education, administration or relevant field is required;
• University degree in a related field (fine arts, business administration) required;
• The candidates shall have worked in a similar capacity for governmental bodies, NGOs or international organizations;
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills;
• Committed to hard work and continual learning;
• Some ability to develop and present public information materials to promote center use;
• Solid commitment to customer service;
• A sound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook);
• The candidate must be fluent in both spoken and written English and Dari/Pashto;
