About American University of Afghanistan
The American University of Afghanistan (AUAF) is a private, non-profit university offering an American-style liberal arts education. We opened our doors in 2005 and currently offer four undergraduate academic majors and an MBA program. The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for all AUAF mechanical design and implementation projects. Acts as Mechanical consultant, and responsible for operations and maintenance of all mechanical facilities in AUAF i.e prime/standby diesel power generators, HVAC system, centralized heating system, water pumps, waste water treatment plant, and refrigeration system. Oversees and guides technical staff (AC Technicians Mechanics) and collaborate with warehouse/store department for mechanical stock planning.

Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for all mechanical designs and implementations of AUAF projects.
Responsible for operations and maintenance of all mechanical related facilities in AUAF (ie prime/standby diesel power generators, HVAC system, centralized heating system, water pumps, waste water treatment plant, and refrigeration system)
Supervise and provide technical guidance to technical staff (ie. AC Technicians Mechanics).
Acts as technical mechanical consultant, with collaboration to in-house Construction/QC manager, to contractors and sub-contractors during implementation stage.
Well-versed or familiar with relevant international code, standard, and mechanical regulation.
Collaborate with warehouse/store department for mechanical stock planning.
Reporting to; Facilities Senior Designer (Design), Facilities Senior Manager (O&M), Construction Manager (Construction), or Senior Manager assigned.
Holder of at least 4-year degree in Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with license and actively practicing is preferred.
Proven combined exposure of at least 5-years in commercial building designs, implementation, operation and maintenance in any commercial or industrial projects/facilities.
Strong leadership and management skills, dependable in all technical recommendations and project proposals.
Proficient in CAD as the major design software, including MS Office (ei word, excel, project, power point, visio, access, etc.).
Good verbal and written English communication skills
