Major Goal of the Position:To facilitate the implementation, record keeping, monitoring and evaluation of WaSH program activities, among community members according to project plans.

Duties and Responsibilities
Key Result Area (KRA) 1: Promote Op Mercy WaSH program activities. The WaSH Facilitator II will assist the WaSH Facilitator III to:
Initiate WaSH program activities in new communities in conjunction with the program plan.
Meet with community leaders to initiate new program areas.
Advocate, explain and support Op Mercy WaSH project activities and values to the community.
Meet target numbers for initiating and completing WaSH modules and program activities.
Communicate with community leaders on a regular basis regarding program goals, community program data and feedback from promoters.
Key Result Area (KRA) 2: Facilitate WaSH assessments and lessons. The WaSH Facilitator II will:
Develop a strong relationship with all coworkers and beneficiaries, seeking to be an example in teamwork, self-sacrifice, positive outlook and integrity.
Assist the WaSH Facilitator III to recruit and train WaSH promoters according to the communities’ action plan in conjunction with the program plan.
Assist the WaSH Facilitator III to train WaSH promoters and other community groups in needs assessment activities, WaSH lessons and in developing action plans to reduce the incidence of WaSH related diseases.
Assist the WaSH Facilitator III to schedule and confirm field visits to minimize wasted time and loss of fuel.
Assist the WaSH Facilitator III to anticipate and request copy and supply needs for WaSH lessons and assessments one week in advance.
Ensure WaSH lessons are facilitated as written and communicate problems with lessons to the WaSH director and / or manager.
Utilize community assessment data to individualize each community training event.
Conduct WaSH training in a way that ensures that trainees pass on their knowledge in the community.
Assist the WaSH Facilitator III to ensure that WaSH promoters who miss sessions receive training prior to the next session.
Deliver effective hygiene promotion activities in partner communities.
Key Result Area (KRA) 3: Monitoring and Reporting. Promote and facilitate WaSH lessons. The WaSH Facilitator II will assist the WaSH Facilitator III to:
Conduct and manage KAP assessments of usual hygiene, water and sanitation practices as well as presence or absence of priority hygiene practices.
Complete WaSH lessons and assessments specific to each community’s action plan and track progress accordingly.
Monitor and record WaSH promoters attendance accurately.
Record pertinent stories, observations and feedback from each group in the weekly narrative report.
Submit accurately completed narrative lesson and assessment reports within three working days of session.
Submit accurately completed promoter data reports within two workings days of session.
Ensure that the target number of promoters in each community submits assessment reports for each session.
Submit accurately completed community data reports within three working days of receipt from community.
Conduct meetings with leaders, WaSH promoters and community groups to discuss baseline data and WaSH related problems after each baseline survey.
Key Result Area (KRA) 4: General WaSH Program and Op Mercy WaSH Office. The WaSH Facilitator II will:
Apply the training they receive and serve as role models for good WaSH behavior at the Op Mercy office and in the communities.
Facilitate WaSH training for new WaSH co-workers as well as other Op Mercy staff.
Assist the WaSH Facilitator III to prepare reports, materials and other requested items within the WaSH office as requested by the WaSH project manager.
Perform any other duties as directed by the WaSH manager.
Maintain an attitude of learning that continuously seeks to grow in professional skills and language learning and cultural understanding of the target community and co-workers.
Teach and nurture character building, WaSH, basic development and self-help group principles of co-workers.

Good speaking, reading, writing and typing ability in Dari
Good speaking, reading, writing and typing ability in Pashto
Some speaking, reading, writing and typing ability in English
Good computer and data entry skills
Able to travel 3-4 days weekly to villages outside Kabul city in Kabul province
Able to travel outside Kabul province for training events
Strong interest in health and well-being of all members of society
Decent, respectable appearance
Honest and hard-working, even without direct supervision
Negotiable:
Good speaking, reading, writing and typing ability in English
Fluent in speaking Pashto
Experience in group facilitation
Experience in WaSH or related fields
Skills
Good speaking, reading, writing and typing ability in Dari
Good speaking, reading, writing and typing ability in Pashto
Some speaking, reading, writing and typing ability in English
Good computer and data entry skills
Able to travel 3-4 days weekly to villages outside Kabul city in Kabul province
Qualifications
Graduated from high school having diploma in relevant field will be preferred.
