About Ministry of Finance

The Ministry of Finance (MoF) is specifically responsible for the management and execution of the budget, the collection of taxes, organization, and control of public expenditure and payments to the government and finally the management of Customs. Every government has to know the status of its revenues and expenditures, the management of its financial resources and to allocate them effectively.
The major portion of the Afghan budget is financed by international assistance. The Ministry of Finance as the responsible body for public finance and expenditure is increasing step by step its influence on coordination and management of international financial assistance to Afghanistan, and convincing donors to channel more funds through the government treasury.
For the past few years, the Ministry of Finance has been trying to regulate its activities according to international rules and regulations. To achieve this goal, the MoF established a Staff recruitment Section as well as a Policy Design and Execution Unit and has continually embarked on the training and capacity building of its staff.
The aim of the MoF is to manage the financial affairs of the country through scientific economic principles so that Afghanistan becomes economically sustainable, secure and self-sufficient that is to ensure that public wealth is used in an accountable and transparent manner.

Job Summary

The Receptionist/Scheduler will provide the full scope of reception and administrative office support services to the practice. He/she will be based in the Main Reception Hall-MoF, and will work under the supervision of the Chief of Staff General Directorate;

Duties and Responsibilities

His/her tasks include but are not limited to the following:
1. Greets and directs visitors courteously and professionally.
2. Obtains, verifies and/or updates visitor information with relevant office and guide them.
3. Collects of the visitor’s identification card.
4. Schedules appointments and records and forwards messages as required.
5. Maintains strong current knowledge of policies and operating procedures.
6. Initiates calls as requested by Directors, Office Manager or other official staff.
7. Responsible for opening/closing office duties as needed.
8. Photocopying and distributing documents to relevant departments as required and in a timely manner.
9. Responsible for the management of incoming and outgoing departmental documents;
10. Demonstrates an ongoing commitment to customer service excellence and supports the customer service plan.
11. Completes required continuous training and education, including department-specific requirements.
12. Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science
2. Demonstrated strong interpersonal, organizational skills.
3. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written Pashto/Dari proficiency required
4. Ability to function independently with minimal supervision within the scope of knowledge and authority of the position.
5. Computer skills required (MS Office Word and Excel).
6. Solid phone/customer service skills.
7. Knowledge of office equipment operation (E-Documents Management system, telephone system, copy machine, etc.).
8. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
9. Ability to perform complex administrative tasks.
10. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and at times hectic environment.
11. Careful attention to detail.
12. Ability to work both in a team and independently.
