Job Summary

JOB TITLE: Policy Research Specialist





REPORTS TO: Research and Development Unit



Designing, implementing and providing necessary support to research required by the CSMD.

Summary of the Job

Participating independently or with other officials in designing, implementing and supporting plans for research on subjects decided by the management of CSMD. The appointee will conduct field studies and research, collect and collate data, analyse data and derive conclusions therefrom.

Duties & Responsiblities

1. Assist policy research advisors and other authorities in identifying areas requiring research on issues relevant to CSMD
2. Assist policy research advisors and other authorities in drawing up plans for research
3. Independently and / or with other Researchers and Advisors, conduct research on identified subjects and prepare reports giving key findings and recommendations
4. For conducting the research, where required, gather primary data using appropriate tools for data collection like interview, questionnaire etc;
5. Collate and analyse data using appropriate data presentation tools, including software and prepare reports clearly giving key findings and recommendations
6. For conducting research, where required, collect data and information from secondary sources, prepare reports clearly giving key findings and recommendations
7. Provide reports in soft and hard copy as per requirement and demand
8. Provide necessary assistance with regard to completed and ongoing research also
9. Make presentations on the research reports
10. Prepare action plans as and when required to implement recommendations that have been accepted
11. All other tasks as required by the authorities in terms of rules and regulations



1. Minimum education qualifications:

 Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Human Resource Management, Statistics, Economics or related field.

Preference will be given to candidates with Master’s degree

2. Experience:

 Candidates must have minimum 3 years’ experience in management or administration
 Candidate must have proven record of conducting research

3. Additional skills, training:

 Fluent in Dari/ Pashto/ and English
 Must be proficient in use of word processing, data processing and presentation applications / software like MS Word, Excel, Access, SPSS, PowerPoint
 Must be well aware of research methodologies
