About French Medical Institute for Mothers and Children:
The French Medical Institute for Mothers and Children (FMIC) was founded in 2006 is a unique public-private partnership between the Governments of Afghanistan and France, a French NGO – La Chaine de L’Espoir/Enfants Afghans and the Aga Khan Development Network through the Aga Khan University Hospital. FMIC embodies a sign of hope for the medical care mothers and children in Kabul. The Institute has risen to the challenge of charting a course towards sustainable health solutions for Afghanistan. It is the first ISO certified hospital in Afghanistan, aiming to provide compassionate, accessible, cost-effective, high quality care services to the population of Afghanistan. Currently the hospital provides161-bed inpatient care for children and adults, including 15 beds for pediatric intensive care, 17 bed adult cardiac care with a state of art cardiac catheterization laboratory, 52 new beds for maternal care, 63 beds allocated for pediatric medical and surgical units and a 14 bed neonatal intensive care unit. Six operation theatres, a department of radiology which includes CT-Scan and MRI capabilities, a state-of-the-art laboratory, a 24 hour pharmacy service and outpatient services for the adult population in medical and surgical specialties. FMIC also runs a Postgraduate Medical Education considering a training hub for healthcare professionals. Through its e-Health programme, FMIC offers telemedicine and eLearning services to hospitals in Bamyan, Badakhshan and Kandahar in Afghanistan and Khorog in Tajikistan. FMIC is working towards expansion of its health services towards establishing a comprehensive 400 bed Academic Medical Complex in Kabul, which will serve not only the Afghan population but Central Asia as well, as a medical Center of excellence.”
The assignment will be based at FMIC in Kabul, Afghanistan. The objectives of this assignment are as follows.
a. Lead FMIC’s fundraising/ resource mobilization in support of its current and future initiatives.
b. Implement FMIC’s fundraising/ resource mobilization strategy for individual and corporate donors with support from management, Resource Development Committee of FMIC Board.

Duties & Responsibilities:
a) Research fundraising opportunities and write grant applications to potential corporations
b) Build relationships with major donors or companies and make presentations
c) Manage information and record the profile and fundraising activity of donors on a databased) Ensure that the fundraising targets for the year are met
e) Devise and organize fundraising events
f) A comprehensive resource mobilization strategy that includes an overview of the situation, an analysis of past fundraising experience, explores future opportunities and strategies, details workflow processed and mechanisms for contribution management and outlines a time-bound action plan (with key responsible focal points) to systematically research and raise funds for key FMIC results.
g) Update the RDC of the donor interests, priorities, funding windows and actions that should be taken to mobilize funds and develop/maintain relationships with donors.
h) Develop required fundraising materials / to secure funding / raise the profile of key FMIC outcomes.
i) Develop and carry out an action plan that outlines clear timelines for the action proposed.
Job Location:Afghanistan, Kabul
a) MBA, MSc. in Developmental / Communication Studies, or MA in Mass Communication / Public Relations.
b) A successful record of resource mobilization, working for an international development agency is highly desirable.
c) Knowledge and experience producing fundraising and donor communications materials.
d) Demonstrated resourcefulness and creativity in developing new story ideas and resource mobilization.
e) Superior communications skills, including internal and external communication, community relations, and government relations.
f) Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
g) Excellent writing and communication skills in English is mandatory, working knowledge of Dari / Pashto / Urdu, French would be an added advantage.
The Ideal Candidate Should have the following work Experiences:
At least 5-10 years’ experience in public, private or NGO-sector organizations with involvement in fundraising or donor-related activities.
