Job Summary:

Provide and support business development services to the Small or Medium Entrepreneurs, Technical People, Service Providers associations (involved in water supply system operations and maintenance)
Coordinate & support in Business Development to maximize effectiveness and responsiveness in service delivery (O&M).
Assisting and Undertaking other technical tasks to establish/incubating/developing a Pilot Business Model.

Duties & Responsibilities:


To diagnose learners’ needs and to formulate relevant business development trainings with close coordination of B&M trainer, to cater those need.

Select mechanics, valve men and water system operators and convince them properly to continue work in the groups.

Ensuring involvement of associations in operation and maintenance of rural water supply systems/ projects in the rural areas

To provide quality learning experiences for the business groups (water supply system operations and maintenance).

To participate fully in arrangements for CDCs’ assessment and linking the O&M service association with the relevant CDCs’ and progress reviews to be reported on time.

To be a member of the Business & professional team and to co-operate fully in this activity across the organization as necessary

To help members of the O&M service associations, in identifying and resolve matters which block their business progress

To liaise with stakeholders in the market to provide support for O&M service associations’ businesses

Manage and supervise the O&M associations properly and provide them relevant and on time support.

Support WASH committees/ WMC and water user groups in establishing long-term services contracts with the mechanics/ valve men and water system operators.

Produce timely monthly and quarterly reports
Other Professional Tasks:
 To facilitate the marketing provision, including support of all quality processes as required.
 To be responsible for leading the business and marketing training curriculum within Business. The nature of such tasks will vary from time to time; responsibilities will be assigned by the team leaders.
 Work closely with SSED team to maximize business opportunities / income and manage key clients. Actively promote marketing provision for the business groups (Water supply system operation and maintenance mechanics service groups).
Administration and Planning:
 To maintain appropriate records of assessments and business progress reports
 To undertake all administrative tasks of O&M service association business, associated and assigned by the team leaders and other tasks to participate in the planning process operating within the individual teams in the organization.
General Requirement:

Promote business development services activities for the O&M services associations

Trainees Welfare and Support Services.

Business promotional and marketing activities.

Any other tasks given by the Supervisor

Qualifications:

Education/ Qualification and Employment Benefits
Education: Bachelor in Business Administration / Social Sciences is required
Experience: Minimum (2) years of relevant experience in business development of small entrepreneur groups.

Other qualifications’ an advantage:

A record of achievement in business development of small and medium enterprises groups

Be an outstanding communicator, both in writing and orally.

Be committed to good working relationships with members of O&M service associations and employers and have the ability to motivate others.

Be committed to the implementation of the above indicated activities and working practices which are free from any bias relating to gender, disability or ethnicity.

Practical experience of good business practice / processes

Ability to plan, organize and work under pressure

Self motivated and personable – capable of working both as a team player and independently
