About American University of Afghanistan:
The American University of Afghanistan (AUAF) is a private, non-profit university offering an American-style liberal arts education. We opened our doors in 2005 and currently offer 4 undergraduate academic majors and a new MBA program. The Mechanic (Generator Technician) is responsible for the day-to-day monitoring, operations and preventive maintenance works of all AUAF generators, over-hauling of generators up to 1750 KVA capacity or higher, including mechanical spare parts inventory and stock monitoring.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform mechanical repairs and troubleshoots all power generators, boilers, pumps and other mechanical equipment, ensuring adherence to code requirements.
Perform generator preventative maintenance procedures, periodical servicing over-hauling up to 175kVA diesel generator capacity.
Proven hands-on exposure in all types of power generators, pumps and boiler systems. Certification as Mechanic or Generator Technician is an advantage.
Familiar with all Power generating components like engine 7 alternator, submersible pumps, exhaust system.
Cary-out all repair and maintenance works related to generator, water pumps, and waste water treatment system.
Responsible for fast moving spares inventory and stock monitoring and familiar with all mechanical spare parts.
Maintain clean, orderly and hazard-free work area at all times.
Ability to work without direct supervision
Flexible to 3-shift duty and 24/7 emergency On-Call trouble breakdow

Minimum education at least earned any Certification as Mechanic or Generator Technician. A Baccalaureate Degree from the technical institutions is an advantage.
Minimum of 5 year relevant experience, in hands-on trouble shooting, over-hauling of diesel generator up to 175kVA capacity.
Good verbal and written English communication skills
