Duties & Responsibilities:
S/he will perform a range of planning, consultative, advisory and research functions related to the implementation of the Strategic Environmental and Social Assessment resulting in an Environmental and Social Management Framework. S/he will work under the supervision of the International Environmental Safeguard to identify and elaborate a consultation plan for a broad range of stakeholders, including the most vulnerable and disenfranchised; conduct research studies to identify pressing environmental issues associated with deforestation and degradation; assess the environmental impacts of proposed strategies and propose alternative approaches where negative impacts are identified; and elaborate relevant sections for broader stakeholder consultation and approval.
Job Location:Afghanistan, Kabul
Environmental Expert (Environmental Safeguard) Must have Bachler degree in Related Filed and master Degree preferred and have at least 7 years work experience in a similar position, preferably with the privet sectors or International NGOs. Excellent command of Pashto, Dari and good command of English– both written and oral is also necessary. He/she must also be familiar with software such as: Microsoft Word and Excel. Good communication skills – both written and interpersonal will be essential, as most of the work will be done through a process of consultation at all levels.
