Job Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Center Manager, the Librarian & receptionist is responsible for providing library services and administration support to the KEAC. The incumbent works as part of a team in providing library and educational services to a variety of client groups. The candidate should have a flexible approach to work and possess an excellent telephone skills, excellent customer service and organizational skills and have the ability to communicate effectively.

Duties & Responsibilities:


Catalogue and classify library resources as required;

Ensure that library services meet the needs of particular groups of users;

Assist patrons with use of online catalogue and their internet search;

Make improvements to accessibility of library resources by organizing resources;

Respond to telephone and in-person requests for information and research about EducationUSA, standardized tests and other KEAC services;

Assist patrons with registration for the TOEFL test, information related to the center, library, events, and other services;

Maintain, schedule of classes for TOEFL, GRE, GMAT preparation and other educational classes;

Assist in organizing classes, seminars and meetings including room set up, sign in sheets, printing agendas, handouts;

Respond to public inquiries about the classes, test dates, library and other educational services of the advising center;

Log all visitor information and inquiries & provide general administrative support for all departments;

Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor;

Qualifications:


At least two years college/university studies in Business Administration or Management is required;

Minimum two years of experience in the field of library, customer service and administration or related field is required;

Solid commitment to customer service;

Must be familiar with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook);

The candidates shall have worked in a similar capacity for Universities, governmental bodies, libraries, NGOs or international organizations;

Excellent communication, problem solving and presentation skills;

Committed to hard work and continual learning;

Some ability to develop and present public information materials to promote center use;

A sound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook);

The candidate must be fluent in both spoken and written English and Dari/Pashto;
