About Ministry of Transport (MoT) Kabul City Ring Road Project (KCRRP):
Governmental office The Ministry of Transport (MoT) is responsible for the planning, monitoring, maintenance and development of the various transport infrastructure projects such as Roads, Bridges, Culverts, Railway and Airport in the government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. Therefore to enhance the capacity to strengthen its ability to deliver effective, efficient and transparent services in MPW the Human Resource Directorate wishes to recruit the following staff on contract basis from development Budget for the Ministry of Transport (MoT)
The Secretary/Translate works under the overall guidance of the KCRRP Project/PMU Director. The Secretary/Translate is responsible for all the Secretary work, translation and Interpretation assignments of project.

Job Requirements & Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Literature English/Arabic
4 years of translation experience to/from English, Pashto and Dari required, or a Bachelor’s Degree in relevant filed with 1 years of translation experience to/from English, Arabic, Pashto and Dari.
Advanced skills in basic computer programs such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Having good Confidentiality, Negotiation skills, Commitment, Analytical skills and Temperament.
Provide dubbing services for video, audio or other multi-media transmissions and promotional tools as needed
Advanced verbal and written English skills, fluency in Dari/Pashto
Excellent communication skills.
Proficiency in English and Arabic languages.
Ability to set Priorities.
Organizational and filling Skills.
Proven background in similar positions.
Must have technical knowledge in relevant field.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Specific responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to;
Undertake a range of translation and interpretation assignments in English and from English into Dari or Pashto, ensuring that the meaning of the source text is retained.
Undertake a range of translation and interpretation assignments in Arabic and from Arabic into Dari or Pashto, ensure that the meaning of that source text in retained.
Provide accurate and complete versions of documents, such as magazine articles, legal documents, official letters, reports, manuscripts, publications and other material, using the most appropriate range of vocabulary commonly accepted and according to grammar, punctuation and mechanics of the target language (English, Arabic or Dari/Pashto).
Proofread, edit and correct translations in order to provide to the Editor Corrector a high quality translation, for him to provide the final edition
Contribute to the development and preparation of multilingual glossaries used by Secretary/Translates and interpreters
Use of special dictionaries, thesauruses and reference books to find the closest equivalents for terminologies and words.
Meet deadlines as established by the Supervisor.
Maintain administrative work in connection with all translation assignments
Assist in the preparation for presentations.
Tracking and following-up of pending issues with staff and other entities.
Assist in maintaining close contacts with the government, executing agency, project partners, and other counterparts through direct contacts, collection and summarizing of information, proposals, incoming and outgoing documents, drafting letters.
Supervise collecting the data and other information for project activities; maintaining, logging, filing and updating records in prescribed format for subsequent use.
Contribute to the preparation of status and progress reports. Prepare background material for use in discussions and briefing sessions.
Assist in monitoring project activities by reviewing a variety of records, including correspondence and reports.
Assist in the organization of and logistical preparation for workshops, seminars, presentations, etc.
To do any other tasks, assigned by his/her supervisor
Follow up logistical arrangement for staff missions and other travel arrangements. Update the mission log on the common drive.
Organizing travel arrangements and hotel bookings for staff and visitors.
Carrying out any other duties that may reasonably or exceptionally be required to ensure the smooth cooperation of KCRRP’s work and optimize the functioning of the office, such as substituting for absent colleagues.
Responsibility to operate KCRRP telephone switchboard by receiving, giving and dispatching office telephone communication to the relevant recipients.
Receiving and dispatching all office communication by e-mail, fax, post, diplomatic bag, etc. Distributes incoming traffic to the relevant recipients for action or information (assures copying and further distribution).
Maintaining appropriate logs and chronological files of all written traffic as well as the general archive of the office.
Daily Check the incoming & outgoing mail and the diplomatic pouch on due time.
Providing secretarial services as required by KCRRP personnel (i.e. write correspondence, phone calls, photocopies, etc.)
Arranging appointments of the KCRRP/MPW and/or other personnel if required.
Secretarial support for other country offices in the region when needed.
Unofficial translation upon request.
Maintaining a dairy and arranging day-to-day activities for the Project director.
Monitoring and processing all incoming and outgoing correspondence on internal memos, business letters, e-mails and faxes for the Project director.
Screening all telephone calls, ensuring that appropriate parties receive the information for the Project director.
Writing letters & reports, sending mails and typing confidential works for the Project/PMU director.
Responsible for manager’s dairy and replying his calls, mails and faxes.
Booking an air ticket for the Project director, if needed.
Handling the executive office of the Project director.
Keep records, control and scheduling appointments for Project director.
Responsible in set up & maintain an effective filing system for the Project director’s Office.
Typing all documents and reports for the Project director as required.
Excellent command of speaking, writing and typing in English and Arabic.
Administrative support for the organization of the IDB and Constancy meetings and workshop including request of offers, analysis of received quotation/s, logistics requirements, accommodation and travel arrangement, etc.
Follow up, maintenance and distribution of the office stock of stationery by maintaining a log book for the said items and share the information with the Logistics Team.
