About Center for Civilians in Conflict:
JOB TITLE: Provincial Project Coordinator
JOB PURPOSE: Engagement with Afghan community leaders, government and security officials in Balkh province.
LOCATION: Mazar-e-Sharif Afghanistan
TRAVEL: As needed throughout Balkh and to/from Kabul
REPORTING TO: Country Director, Afghanistan
Duration: Seven Months extendable
Deadline: November 10, 2018

Requires travel to provinces:
Experience in facilitating participatory activities and community-level engagement;
Knowledge, experience, and understanding of civilian protection issues in armed conflict and understanding of the military/civilian/humanitarian spaces;
Proven ability to think analytically and plan strategically, including setting objectives and identifying and capitalizing on opportunities for our work;
Poise, flexibility, discretion, and mature judgment to handle and respond appropriately and professionally in a fast-paced, high-pressure atmosphere and as a team member;
Well organized, self-motivated, and able to conceptualize and implement programs in stressful environments;
Experience in representing organizations in sensitive political and security environments;
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Identify respected leaders of community both men and women to become members of civilian protection Shura;
Identify NGOs working on human rights and protection issues to form civilian protection working group;
Prepare a list of interested local CSOs and share their details with Program Offcer in Kabul;
Assist PO to establish Provincial Civilian Protection Working Groups in Balkh;
Liaise with government and security officials for meetings and workshops;
Assist PO with the capacity-building workshops for Provincial Civilian Protection Working Group and Community Civilian Protection Shuras;
Assist PO with the civilian and military dialogues;
Assist PO with the conduct of the workshops for ANDSF;
Organize and attend monthly meetings with Provincial Civilian Protection Working Group and Community Civilian Protection Shuras;
Help Civilian Protection Working Group to draft press statements on civcas incidents;
Attend advocacy meetings with civilian protection working group and community civilian protection Shuras;
Monitor civilian protection working groups and Shuras work and report to PO;
Write meeting notes;
Arrange meetings and workshops;
Manage the Shura and NGO group.
Job Location:Afghanistan, Balkh
B.A. in international affairs, political science, or related area.
Minimum 2 years relevant full-time staff level work experience;
Passion for CIVIC’s subject matter and willingness to take on the responsibilities and duties as a key member of our team; and
Fluency in Dari written and spoken mandatory.
Good knowledge of English language is required.
Basic report writing skill is necessary
Knowledge of MS word, MS excel MS outlook and writing email is required
