Job Summary:

A general medical practitioner (doctor) who is interested in doing research on various health-related issues/topics for the purpose of conducting live radio programs including round-tables and call-in shows. He will be hosting radio shows, which means he will need to have adequate journalistic skills to engage related guests on these topics.

Skills Description:

* Must have work experience in journalism, particularly in running call-in shows, round tables and expert talks shows;
* Must have the ability and know-how in doing research in and gathering valuable information on various general health-related topics concerning the people of Afghanistan in all provinces;

Duties & Responsibilities:

Generating and researching ideas for live health programs twice a week;
Producing and presenting health programs for both live and pre-recorded output;
Sourcing potential health advisors/doctors inviting them to the programs and interviewing them;
Guests management to the program and looking after the concerned logistics for live shows;
Build and develop a network of contacts with health professionals, doctors, psychologists, psychiatrists, etc. to participate in the programs;
Researching and producing pre-recorded health related programs;
Undertaking editing, interviewing and reporting duties as necessary;
Responding to audience feedback, referring them to the right doctors;
Using computer applications such as Cool Edit Pro, Pro Tools and Adobe Audition for producing and edit of the programs;
Ensuring that health and safety standards of the employees are met at SAMO; and
Other duties assigned by the supervisor.

At least bachelor's degree in medical sciences;
Degree in journalism would be a plus;
2-3 years of work experience in the field of medicine;
1-2 years of work experience conducting live radio and/or TV shows, esp. call-in and round tables;
