Job Summary:

a. Allocate the technical work to the various sections of laboratory
b. Provide technical guidance and technical training to the staff
c. Identify training needs in the operations under his control
d. Ensure that the test methods used are both relevant and current to ASTM and ASHTOO specification
e. Take responsibility for the validation of the test methods
f. Take responsibility for the accuracy of the test reports
g. Perform laboratory test within agreed time frame
h. Take responsibility for the traceability of the samples
i. Ensure that equipment’s used has been maintained, verified and/or calibrated in accordance with the schedules
j. Ensure that safe and neat working conditions are maintained
k. Ensure safe working practices at the laboratory and the site
l. Carry out any lawful instruction given by the management
m. Collecting the samples
n. Maintain the samples register
o. Complete and issue sample report
p. Validate the test methods spreadsheets daily or before use
