About NATO Afghanistan - Resolute Support :
Resolute Support is a NATO-led, non-combat mission. It was launched on January 1, 2015, following the conclusion of the previous NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) mission, and the assumption of full security responsibility by the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF). Its purpose is to help the Afghan security forces and institutions develop the capacity to defend Afghanistan and protect its citizens in a sustainable manner. The mission performs supporting functions in several areas. These include: operational planning; budgetary development; force generation process; management and development of personnel; logistical sustainment; and civilian oversight (in order to ensure the Afghan security forces and institutions act in accordance with the rule of law and good governance).
The incumbent is responsible for serving as a Radio Journalist for Radio Bayan.
Provinces to travel:
Good verbal pronunciation.
Reliable and honest personality.
Highly motivated with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Already existing professional contacts are welcome. The incumbent will have contact with both representatives of the Afghan Government as well as with the Afghan population.
The Radio Journalist gives the Radio Bayan an Afghan voice in order to become a part of the Afghan culture and is received as reliable.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Researches PSYOPS (Psychological Operations) broadcasting contributions.
Produces and announces reports in Dari/Pashtu
Translates text/audio into Dari/Pashtu/English.
Writes, voices, and produces radio spots.
Monitors local news, covering local and national events.
Responsible for writing, voicing and producing of radio spots.
The incumbent may be required to use his/her voice to narrate PSYOPS TV and Radio spots.
The incumbent may be required to undertake TDY assignments as directed consistent with PSYOPS mission requirements.
The employee may be required to perform a similar range of duties elsewhere within the organisation at the same grade without there being any change to the contract.
The work is normally performed in a typical Office / Secure Facility environment. Slightly Undesirable
Job Location:Afghanistan, Kabul
Minimum 2 years’ of experience in Radio Journalism.
English: Good level of written and spoken language skills.
Dari: Good level of written and spoken language skills.
Pashtu: Very good level of written and spoken language skills.
Note: The work both oral and written in this post and in this Headquarters as a whole is conducted mainly in English.
University Degree in Journalism or Social Science Field.
