Duties & Responsibilities:

Develops robust, impeccably designed programmes and delivers on its implementation to the highest quality

Proactively engage new and existing clients to deepen relationships and develop new businesses

Manage programme budgets, cash flows, and compliance

Develops methodologies, proposals and budgets in response to the new REoIs and RFPs

Maintains an intimate working knowledge of potential partners network, from local civil society organizations, to broadcasters to production houses

Builds Lapis brand through conferences, speaking engagements and publishing case studies, white papers, and online thought content

General monitoring of Lapis projects including adherence to reporting requirements to donors and clients

Coordinates timely implementation of all aspects of the project with emphasis specific activities described in the contractual documents and the project proposals

Daily financial management of client resources in accordance with the approved budget

Ensures the timely execution of administrative procedures for the project including the amendment of agreements with donors, clients and vendors

In close coordination with the team, monitors and advises on risks to project implementation and make recommendations for risk mitigation measures as required

Provides timely and accurate reports to clients on developments and progress within the project

Ensures adherence to administrative, project management and financial rules and regulations

Prepares technical and financial reports

Ensures the project filing system is updated

Coordinates and oversees entry of relevant data into the project database

Maintains accurate project filing systems covering all project activities (including contract agreements with subcontractors, monitoring and evaluation reports, and photographic evidence of outputs, among others

Coordinates project procurement and logistics activities with administrative support personnel

Performs other duties as may be assigned

Bachelor’s degree is required and Master’s degree is preference. Preferred fields of study are project management, communications and other social sciences.

4-7 years’ work experience in project management, business development and communications

Written and spoken Dari/Pashto and English

Working knowledge of financial reporting, project management

Strong track record of business savvy entrepreneurialism, strategic thinking, and analytical prowess

Exceptional ability to manage multiple complex communications projects in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment

Persuasive presentation abilities and impeccable written / oral communications across cultures and geographies

Outstanding ability to deliver trainings, workshops and participate in capacity-building programmes

Experience and strength in writing progress reports and completion reports to clients (government and donor agencies)

Established network of donors, civil society and private sector contacts in Afghanistan

Comprehensive understanding of the political, social, media landscape in Afghanistan
