About Ministry of Education (MoE):
The aim of the EQRA Project is “to increase equitable access to primary and secondary education, particularly girls, in selected lagging provinces, and to improve learning conditions in Afghanistan.” EQRA introduces a shift from monitoring only the enrollment of students (which also includes attention to students designated as ‘permanently absent’) to focusing on bringing children into school as well as student attendance. The Education Quality Reform for Afghanistan (EQRA) is fully aligned with the goals of the Afghanistan National Strategic Plan (NESP III). The project is designed to (A) increase equitable access in disadvantaged districts especially for girls; (B) improve quality of instruction/education service delivery and (C) enhance MoE governance and management capacity. The project focuses on the construction and expansion of schools, provide community-based education to out of school children, reform curriculum for all grades, improve and ensure textbooks delivery to schools, enhance academic supervision, strengthen teacher & TTC quality, improve execution of budget, strengthen and increase use of EMIS, implement capacity building reform, and reform recruitment process for civil service.
The ICT department is responsible for establishing, implementing and maintaining a reliable and secure ICT infrastructure within MoE central and provincial offices. Moreover, ICT department provide support in the implementation of NESPII and EQRA. In order to do so, there is a strong need of a technically skillful team including Sr. Hardware Technicien who will provide support for the MOE ICT assets printer, copier, scanner installation and repairing which is installed in MOE offices and Kabul schools.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Sr. Hardware Technician will be mainly focusing on installation, Repairing Photo copy machines, printers, scanners and electronic boards .He/she will also be responsible to install, assemble and configure computers, monitors, network infrastructure and peripherals such as printers, scanners and related hardware;
1) Duties and Responsibility
Install, configure and upgrade system Hardware, using standard business and administrative packages; may modify specific applications for use in operational departments.
Install, assemble and configure computers, monitors, network infrastructure and peripherals such as printers, scanners and related hardware
Pull cables and rewires or directs the rewiring of cables as required for new installations and office reconfiguration.
Installing, upgrading, repairing, replacing user workstations hardware
Analyze, find and solve any hardware problem related to Network Equipment’s such as cables, access switches, access points, face plate and all related equipment’s
Doing all hardware activities related to Network Extension
Assist with inventorying and disposition of old computer equipment
Installs, assembles and configures computers, monitors, network infrastructure and peripherals such as printers, scanners and related hardware; pulls cables and rewires or directs the rewiring of cables as required for new installations and office reconfiguration.

Capacity building of MoE Tashkeel staff in ICT hardware equipment’s
Related tasks assigned by Supervisor.
All MoE ICT hardware equipment’s are installed and maintained on time
All MoE damaged hardware equipment’s are repaired
MoE ICT civil servant capacity are improved in maintains of the ICT hardware equipment’s.
Sr. Hardware Technician will be reporting to the Wireless Setup Specialist (Network Manager).
Job Location:Afghanistan, Kabul
a. Must have a Bachelor degree in Computer Science, information systems or related field
a) At least 4 years of work experience of general computer installation, maintenance and repair experience;
b) An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as listed above.
c) The candidate must have MCSE

b. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and with written documentation
c. Ability to train technical staff of MoE.
Recruitment, work condition and evaluation
1. The recruitment will be done through transparent and competitive processes.
2. Work conditions
1. The Senior Hardware Technician work according to Afghanistan MoE’s and donors' rules and regulation.
2. MoE will provide a proper work station at MoE main building.
1. The initial three months will be considered a probationary period.
2. A formal performance evaluation shall be conducted annually jointly by the Ministry of Education leadership as well as by the WB with observers of the key donors.
3. An exit interview will be conducted upon completion of the contract. This exit interview constitutes condition for final payment.
4. These reporting obligations would be in addition to any reporting and evaluation obligations decided and directly conducted by the Ministry and/or World Bank.
