Afghanaid is a British-registered international NGO, which has worked in Afghanistan for over 30 years. We assist community-driven processes that address the rights and fundamental needs of people in some of the most remote areas of Afghanistan, providing basic services, supporting development of rural livelihoods and responding to humanitarian emergencies. We are headquartered in Kabul, and operate 20 provincial and district offices across Badakhshan (north-eastern region), Samangan (northern region) and Ghor (western region), as well as a Marketing and Fundraising office in London. We employ around 160 personnel, 97% of whom are Afghans.
M&E Officer is responsible for monitoring, reporting and evaluation activities of Emergency livelihood support for drought affected farmers in Daykundi province and will work closely with the Project Coordinator to identify any potential challenges and gaps in the project implementation.

Duties & Responsibilities:
The M&E Officer will be responsible for accessing data from weekly/ monthly reports prepared by individual project staff and reporting to project coordinator.
She/he will cross-check a sample of such data through field visits and interviews
From time to time, She/he will conduct remote monitoring of events (such as skills training, community mobilization, inputs distribution) through phone calls and direct observation to participants
She/he will periodically examine the records of community level organizations, partner CDCs to ensure that their records validate reports from project staff
Close coordination with all relevant stakeholders specific with non-governmental and government partners at provincial level.
The M&E Officer will maintain, modify and improve the project Database so that the project team has access to updated project information at all times
She/he will guide field staff in filling data into Project Tracking Sheets developed, at the inception of the project, by Project Coordinator
She/he will coordinate with field and HO M&E unit to ensure that complete and accurate data and information is available whenever required.
She/he will make all efforts to present field data in formats specified by users after collecting, compiling and analyzing the same
In consultation with the Project Coordinator, the M&E Officer will conduct post distribution and post-harvest survey in the field.
The M&E Officer will, from time to time, coordinate post distribution and post harvesting data, baseline surveys in Daikundi province
She/he will participate in the development of questionnaires in Dari, sampling of respondents, and scrutiny of completed survey forms for field surveys.
The M&E Officer will produce monthly and quarterly progress reports for provincial programme against quarterly work plan, basing the report on information taken from Project Tracking Sheets and their sample verification; and qualitative inputs obtained through observation of inputs and interviews with key informants
The M&E Officer will verify and improve Success stories and case studies collected by project staff from the field
Any other related duties as required.
Job Location:Afghanistan, Daikondi
Bachelor’s degree in in relevant discipline (statistics, social sciences, development studies or any other relevant subject)
At least 2-3 years of professional experience in areas of monitoring and evaluation.
