FHI 360 / GOLDOZI

The Goldozi Project (“Goldozi,” embroidery in the Dari language) is a four-year USAID-funded project, awarded to FHI 360 under the Afghanistan Jobs Creation Program (AJCP), focused on creating and/or improving jobs in the embroidered products value chain for 15,000 women hand embroiderers and 500 predominantly female lead entrepreneurs, who will act as skilled marketing agents on behalf of the women embroiderers. Goldozi will pull from a large pool of talented Afghan women embroiderers to upgrade their skills; establish a class of professional intermediaries; create linkages in local, regional, and international markets; and disseminate market information. The goal is to increase the commercial potential of the Afghan embroidered products they produce.

UHI

UHI project is an anticipated multiyear USAID Urban Health Initiative (UHI) in Afghanistan. The activity aims to improve health outcomes through improved availability and quality of high-impact, sustainable, accessible, and quality health and nutrition services within urban settings of Afghanistan. The project also will work with the Ministry of Public Health, the private sector, and nascent professional accreditation bodies to improve governance and quality assurance of FP/MNCH, TB, and nutrition services in urban areas. This position is subject to project award and funding.

  • The Procurement Advisor will provide technical guidance and advice on subject matter related to procurement of various supplies and services including advising on procurement systems of the selected HEI. S/he will be responsible in ensuring that the selected HEI receives the support needed to ensure effective procurement systems.

  • The Senior Advisor (Human Resources Management) will provide technical guidance and advice on subject matter related to human resources management, reform and organization development. S/he will be responsible in ensuring that the selected HEI receives the support need to ensure effective human resources management.


  • The Senior Advisor (Financial Management) will provide technical guidance and advice on subject matter related to financial management to the selected HEI. S/he will be responsible in ensuring that the selected HEI receives the support needed to ensure effective financial management of the institution.


  • The Director, Technical Capacity Building will work closely with the Activity team to provide technical and capacity building support and advice to the selected HEI. S/he must provide specific technical capacity building through work mentoring, on-the-job training as well as structured training programs, shadowing for key staff to effectively ensure substantial financial management, human resource management and procurement system changes within the HEI.

  • The Director, Monitoring and Documentation will provide technical assistance in support of monitoring and documentation activities on the performance of the HEI’s finance, human resources and procurement staff, processes, procedures and management controls of the selected HEI. S/he will be responsible in ensuring meeting donor requirements in submitting reports on HEI’s progress and adherence to the baseline assessment and action plans.


  • The ICT/ Digital Technology Specialist will be working closely with the Director, Monitoring and Documentation and Data Manager to ensure that network management, software and database installation and administration. ICT Digital Technology Specialist will provide technical support and training of the HEI on the management and usage of information systems.
