Job Summary

The job will involve a large amount of desk and substantial fieldwork. The MCH Coordinator will provide general and technical support to the Project. S/he will design, strategies and implement plans in consultation with Pakistan/Afghanistan based program leaders and the teams.

Duties & Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities:

Monitor all MCH project staff, their work plan, work Progress and other relevant issue and provide feedback for improvement.

Supervise and Facilitate MCH Relevant Staff for their better performance and achieving the project goal and objective smooth and effectively.

Facilitate information collection for timely project reporting.

Carry out frequent monitoring and supervision visits to all health units under the project, at least once in a month

To have daily activities schedule and Action plan in hand and copy must be submitted to the first line supervisor

Design the training plan with the coordination of first line supervisor/Project Officer.

To ensure replacement of the blank position or in the obscene of MCH staff (Midwifes/LHV)

Responsible for RH clinics and smooth implementation of RH activities

Ensure proper filing and maintaining records of MCH related Activities in office and Health units.

Consultation, coordination:

Attend coordination meetings, of MOPH in Provincial and Central Level and relevant meetings of other stakeholders.

Participate in trainings/Workshops assigned by Project Officer, Project Manager and or AD-DMP in Afghanistan, Pakistan and/or other country.

Assist Project Manager in team building and creating good and health working environment.

Provide suggestion for solving Project staff or Health Unit problems and consult with Project officer, Project Manager for deciding on final solution and report the issue line supervisor on time.

Knowledge gained through trainings should be disseminated to other Staff of the Project or replicate the training.

Work closely with Project Manager and Associate Director for networking with donors and other agencies in order to enhance visibility of Organization.

Provide all MCH related HMIS information/reports to HMIS officer

Support HMIS officer for effective use of HMIS reporting formats in Health Units.

Records and reporting:

Generate timely minutes of all monitoring/supervision visits and share it with the Project Manager for further dissemination.

Generate timely minutes of all meetings, trainings and workshop attended

Submit Timely activities report to line supervisor

Any other task assigned by director/Deputy or Associate Director and Project Manager
Confidentiality

Maintain confidentiality in all information he/she gained through access to organization database, flow of information or other information source, Any disbursement of information related to Organization, it is project of program staff or other relevant matters will be legally held against.

Job Requirements

For the post of MCH coordinator a MD degree from university and three to five years experience are necessary for this field and position.

This position requires good knowledge regarding development

projects/programs and development sector in Afghanistan, she should also possess good inter-personal skill in facilitation of other staff along with professional knowledge and skill in MCH, good writing and reporting skills are additional requirements for this position.

Very good English, Pashto & Dari are essential.

The MCH Coordinator must be tolerant and sensitive to needs of religious and ethnic minorities, women and the poor.

In the absence of the supervisors, the MCH Coordinator must have the confidence, initiative, patience and integrity to work independently
