The Ministry of Transport (MoT) is responsible for the planning, monitoring, maintenance and development of the various transport infrastructure projects such as Roads, Bridges, Culverts, Railway and Airport in the government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. Therefore, to enhance the capacity to strengthen its ability to deliver effective, efficient and transparent services in MoT the Human Resource Directorate wishes to recruit the following staff on contract basis from development Budget for the Ministry of Transport.

 

Job Summary:

The Admin & Operation Specialist will work in close collaboration with Admin & Operation Head, successfully deliver operational and admin support services.

  • Good computer skills in operating MS Windows and MS Office programs.
  • Proficiency in English, Dari and Pashto (Reading, Writing and Speaking)
  • Self-discipline, integrity and ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Be familiar with Afghan Media law and guidelines
  • Demonstrated experience producing written products such as articles, reports, fact sheets, speeches, success stories, and press releases.
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity and gender.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work with high levels staff and functions within the organization.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, accept responsibility, and be extremely discrete with sensitive information.

Job Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree Business Administration, Public Administration, Commerce, Economics, Business Management or related field with 5 years relevant experience.
  • Master degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Commerce or related field with 3 years’ experience
  • 5 years of related experience with governmental organizations, Ministries, Independent Directorates, UN Offices or International NGOs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Operations


  • Lead, implement, and coordinate all operational (procurement, finance, logistics and all other operational) efforts to implement project activities, outputs and inputs within all government private sector organizations;
  • Participate in the planning, prioritizing and sequencing of the project activities in close coordination with head of department;
  • Ensure that operational activities are executed within allotted budget and timelines.
  • Develop and implement plans to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Provide guidance to operational staff in resolving operational issues and problems.
  • Develop an updated inventory system for the project assets and future purchases,
  • Efficiently manage financial, Logistical, human resource and assets of the project, ensure that activities have sufficient funding;


Administration



  • Prepare procedures and checklist for filling and documentation of current and previous years,
  • Assist with the Admin & Operation Manager in monitoring and supervising of daily operations.
  • Co-responsible for implementing, improving and administering of the organization operation.
  • Assist in setting operational goals to meet or exceed performance expectations.
  • Assist manager for preparation of meeting agenda and other important tasks.
  • Keep the stock updated in terms of having enough stationary, Office Supplies, ensuring office Maintenance is done based on the need.
  • Any other official responsibility assigned by Supervisor(s).
