Working with public-sector and private partners, we harness the power of people and systems to improve education, health promotion and care, workforce preparation, communications technologies, and civic engagement. EDC conducts 350 projects in 35 countries around the world. The Skills Training for Afghan Youth (STAY Positive) project works to mobilize and strengthen at-risk youth to contribute to the economic development and security of Afghanistan. To achieve its goal of engaging and preparing youth for their roles in the world of work, society and family life, STAY Positive provides education and workforce development opportunities for out-of-school youth, builds the capacity of existing vocational education centers, enhances gender awareness and participation and helps strengthen the capacity of Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan ministries to better support youth programs. First year program activities will be carried out in Nangarhar, Kunar, Laghman and Kandahar.
The Administrative Assistant will support all project activities including word processing, meeting coordination and scheduling, travel arrangements and other support services required.
Duties & Responsibilities:
ï‚§ Prepare documents, photocopies, catalogs, and electronic data;
ï‚§ Maintain Database system;
ï‚§ Navigate internet for data and track information;
ï‚§ Maintain records and files;
ï‚§ Create correspondence as needed;
ï‚§ Coordinate appointments and travel schedules;
ï‚§ Maintain office equipment;
ï‚§ Provide inventory support;
ï‚§ Review material for accuracy and quality, propose format or presentation enhancements;
ï‚§ Perform various assigned duties to balance workload
ï‚§ Plan, organize and independently carry out workload priorities to ensure smooth and timely coordination and production;
ï‚§ Apply organizational terms, procedures, systems, and policies.
ï‚§ High School diploma, Vocational training or equivalent with 1-3 years relevant experience;
ï‚§ Proficiency in 3 or more computer applications, including word processing and data base management;
ï‚§ Strong organizational and analytical skills;
ï‚§ Excellent written and oral communications skills;
ï‚§ Excellent communication in English required.
