The USAID-funded HCI-Afghanistan Project goal is to develop the improvement capability in the health sector in Afghanistan. URC-HCI proposes to do so through working with counterparts in the MOPH, PPHDs and NGOs providing services in order to adapt and apply the Science of Health Care Improvement, including the Improvement Collaborative Approach, to bring about significant and rapid improvement in health outcomes for patients in Afghanistan.

Job Summary:

The Health Care Improvement Project (HCI) is a global health care improvement project funded by USAID and implemented by University Research Co., LLC, dedicated to improving quality of health care through adaptation of modern Quality Improvement (QI) methods in USAID-assisted countries. The Afghanistan HCI project, launched in January 2009, is working closely with the Afghanistan MoPH; implementing NGO’s and partners to build national and regional capacity in use of modern (QI) methods to achieve sustainable improved health care services for leading causes of mortality and morbidity.

The Admin Clerk will report to Provincial Improvement Coordinator in Parwan province.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide daily security updates to PIC and other provincial technical team from targeted HFs
• Collect necessary information to make sure that daily travel to the HFs is safe ( road blockage during the winter)
• Accompany staff during travel after permission from PIC .
• Updates the office inventory regularly.
• Check the overall office equipments for their functionality
• Take care of electricity of the office ( power system )
• Take care of the building
• Assist the office with procurement of needed items ( as requested by the PIC )
• Assist the PIC in maintaining smooth operation
• Assist the technical teams during the workshops ( provide logistical support as requested by PIC )
• Distribution of invitation letters to the HFs.
• Take care of photocopy machine.
• Assist the technical teams in photocopying of training materials.
• Distribution of stationary for the staff.
• Ensure the office is cleaned by the cleaner.
• Any other tasks ordered by PIC.

Job Requirement:

• Graduated from high school.
• More than one year experience in administration.
• English Language and computer skills are preferable.
• Polite, considerate and flexible.
