Education Development Center, Inc. Working with public-sector and private partners, we harness the power of people and systems to improve education, health promotion and care, workforce preparation, communications technologies, and civic engagement. EDC conducts 350 projects in 35 countries around the world. The Skills Training for Afghan Youth (STAY Positive) project works to mobilize and strengthen at-risk youth to contribute to the economic development and security of Afghanistan. To achieve its goal of engaging and preparing youth for their roles in the world of work, society and family life, STAY Positive provides education and workforce development opportunities for out-of-school youth, builds the capacity of existing vocational education centers, enhances gender awareness and participation and helps strengthen the capacity of Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan ministries to better support youth programs. First year program activities will be carried out in Nangarhar, Kunar, Laghman and Kandahar.
Reponsible for overall administration duties and activities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Ensure administrative policies and procedures as required to support operations and ensure they are efficient and transparent
Assess staffing needs, scheduling of contract extension, new contracts.
Ensure compliance with local labor laws as illustrated by the Government of Afghanistan.
Work with the security officer to oversea staff welfare/support functions for national and international staff (including, accommodation compound management etc.)
Work closely with the Security In charge to ensure appropriate steps to safe guard office premises and residential property (guard, locks, lighting, Alarms, fire equipments etc.)
Ensure staff know how to identify health risks in region how to protect against diseases, injury and stress, and how to obtain support or medical treatment.
Manage all incoming and out going mails.
Translate documents between English and Dari.
Work closely with the logistic, and Program Support relevant managers/officers to assess the needs and oversee the installation of office equipment, supplies, utilities (stationary, filing systems, photocopier, furniture, water, electricity and etc.
Keeping all project document
Proper filing system
Maintaining and record keeping system of office administrative files.
Developing and maintaining effective communication procedures and policies to insure efficient flow of information within the project..
Any other tasks assigned by supervisor.
â€¢ At least High School Graduated
3 to 5 years of experience in administration management.
â€¢ Must be computer literate.
â€¢ Knowledge of principles and practices of basic office management and organization.
â€¢ Ability to work well either alone or as part of a team
â€¢ Good writing, analytical and problemâ€solving skills.
