Agribusiness Specialist-Deputy Team Leader
Main Duties/Responsibility:
• Report to the Team Leader, and when acting team leader to Project Director on all Project related concerns and issues.
• Develop with the team Leader, PMO and staff, the project inception plan.
• work closely with the Team leader in organizing the technical and financial components of the Project
• Prepare annual implementation work plans with PMO input, and provide oversight in implementing these plans.
• Supervise under direction of the team leader, the work of the consultant team.
• Establish and train PMO where required in the procedures that will be followed in working with agribusiness enterprises and associations.
• Provide technical input into the training plan.
• Establish processes for regular planning, implementation and review meetings, with PMO, and with counterparts in agribusiness.
• Provide oversight on the procurement plan and implementation progress.
• Provide technical input into agribusiness areas under the project, and value chain development, and the design work for the small scale market infrastructure being undertaken by the design engineer.
• Provide technical input into the market infrastructure activities, in particular the small scale market infrastructure, including the institutional aspects.
• supervise the work done by the international and domestic technical specialists
• provide input into the quarterly reports of the Project
• Provide input into the annual, mid-term, and final reports
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, or Business, with post graduate qualification preferred.
• At least five years of experience as an agribusiness specialist, and experience in management, and in managing or as a deputy team leader project teams working.
• Experience in business planning and in developing value-added activities within priority value chains, and preferably in managing agribusinesses.
• Experience in managing agribusinesses preferred.
• Good writing and communication skills in English and in Pashtu and Dari.
