Job Summary:

ARAZI is seeking for a qualified Agro-Economic Specialist who can take the over all responsibility of the research and technical analysis of activities related to land and can contribute to develop further systems and procedures for research and technical analysis of leases, land preparation, l and valuation, Land Ev aluation, and lease types and socio economic Impact Assessments of theleases.
The incumbent will report to the Lease Enforcement Director and Deputy Director on regular and on ad hoc basis. He/she will have full knowledge of land issues, agriculture farming, Agro-economics, businesses and private sector activities.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Developing frame works and strategic approaches for land use planning and providing technical analysis.
2. Economic assessments and working on socio-economic impacts to have a special look on increased diversification and
enterprise development.
3. Monitoring and evaluation the leases technically in terms of: Land degradation / Soil fertility depletion / Choice of
technologies / Physical conservation measures / Biological and vegetative measures.
4. Providing technical analysis on: Use of incentives / Approaches used / Environmental benefits / Farmer empowerment
/ Impacts on farm production / Support systems / Key impacts and lessons

Main Tasks

- Developing frame works and strategic approaches for land use planning and Agro forestry practices.
- Preparation of price/cost analysis for designated actions, formulation of negotiation strategies.
- Developing land valuation procedure.
- Developing land valuation formats templates.
- Developing land valuation database and other related criterias.
- Conducting land valuation and land use planning trainings.
- Developing visual soil assessment procedure.
AFGHANISTAN LAND AUTHORITY
- Developing environmental conservation assessment procedure and policy.
- Providing technical analysis on types of lease.

Qualifications:

Education

- Bachelors degree in Agriculture, Business Administration and Economics

Professional experience

Should be capable and expert in Agriculture, Management, M and E, Procurement, Audit and other related fields. The agro-economics specialist is to be capable and expert in Agriculture - Research, and other related fields.
5 to 7 years progressive experience in M and E, Agriculture and other related field with public/ private organizations, UN or NGO.
