UNOPS strategy for Afghanistan is aimed at providing maximum support to the Government and people of Afghanistan though the delivery of projects and services in line with the government’s own priorities. The UNOPS Afghanistan Operations Center (AGOC) has been established as an organizational mechanism to deliver a range of projects for which UNOPS has been designated as the implementation agency. At present UNOPS AGOC is implementation a number of projects in a range of sectors including infrastructure (roads and schools) development, capacity building to various ministries, and environmental protection, among others, on behalf of he Government of Afghanistan and the donor community.
The functional objective of UNOPS/AGOC is to deliver its projects in an efficient and effective manner, so as to achieve the development outcomes sought by Government of Afghanistan and donor community. Capacity building is always considered and encouraged. The aim of UNOPS/AGOC is to provide implementation services to the Government of Afghanistan, the donor community and partner agencies in the reconstruction and development of the country. In doing so UNOPS aims to exceed client expectations in the delivery of quality services throughout the country.
UNOPS is currently recruiting an archiving/filing clerk for a short term assignment to organize financial and administrative documentation for it’s project support unit. Reporting directly under the AGOC M.I.S/Programme Specialist, the Archiving/Filing Clerk is expected to perform the following duties and responsibilities, but not limited to:
• Accurate and comprehensive registry of all project blue files.
• Scan, archive and upload all relevant documentation of project documents
• Arrange blue files stickers/tags indicating the project IDs for all blue files
• Place projects blue files and arrange them in chronological orders.
• Arranging the physical filing system (labels, folders, binders, and cabinets, among others)
• Send obsolete documents and files to archives in coordination with other departments
• Maintain an updates tracking system and report on the progress on a weekly basis, unless otherwise instructed
• Perform other related duties as may be assigned
a. Education
• Secondary Diploma required
b. Work Experience
• Minimum 2 years of overall experience, preferably in finance and administration or related field
• Previous filing/archiving experience a must
c. Key Competencies
• Comprehensive computer literacy (MS office and database knowledge required)
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Working knowledge of English, both written and spoken.
• Must be capable of working both individually and as part of a team.
• General: Tactfulness, Enthusiasm to the job.
