Job Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Logistics Officer, the Assets Management Associate ensures efficient material planning and assets management of the project properties and other logistical services upon demand, ensuring high quality and accuracy of work. The Assets Management Associate promotes a collaborative, client-focused, quality and results-oriented approach in the delivery of all services.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• The Assets Management Associate must ensure full compliance of property, plant and equipment management with UNOPS rules, regulations and policies including effective internal control

• The Assets Management Associate must deal with all aspect of supply chain management including but not limited to planning, budgeting, acquisition, reception, issuing, tracking, reporting and disposal

• Assist the Logistics Coordinator in the analysis of the effectiveness and execution of the assets control procedure in MACCA

• Using MACCA computerized inventory management system analyzes stocks history data in order to maintain an efficient and reliable automated inventory-stock control system. Oversees the inventory records. Verify the accuracy of the data recorded/updated in the computerized database.


• Prepares or direct the preparation of reports related to inventory, stock control. These include the monitoring of stock levels, redistribution plans and replenishment activities

• Managing/reviewing assets including maintenance jobs, depreciation and disposal.

• Organizing year end on assets stocktaking. Confirms the correctness and accuracy of the inventory, physical verifications, stock takes and write-off procedures;

• Recommends the disposal of assets and related equipment as and when necessary. Assists in reviews of stores requests for material to be written off, disposed or transferred. Endorses recommendation for disposal or disposal and submits recommendations regularly to the Logistics Coordinator

• Assist in preparation of the documents for submission to MACCA Assets Management Board and UNOPS HQ. Implement a regularly disposal process for the UNOPS equipment and materials.

• Coordinate and organize the implementation of the approved disposal methods. Implement the sale process of the assets in coordination with procurement unit. Organize and coordinate with the stores representatives, the disposal of assets as per the approved HQCPC recommendation and under the afghan rule and regulations. • As required preparing training material, directly participate to the workshops and updates the AMACs regarding the new Logistics development.

• Ensure that the accurate and auditable records in both hard (filling system) and electronic format are maintained for property control and accountability.

• Other related duties as assigned by the Logistics Coordinator

Job Requirement:

• Secondary Diploma or equivalent certificate; Bachelors Degree (an asset)
• 3-5 years of practical experience in local or international procurement / logistics.
• Understanding of humanitarian demining operations and support would be an asset
• Knowledge of UNOPS Procurement, Financial and Assets Management rules would be an asset
• Experience and knowledge of ATLAS is an asset.
• Knowledge of computers including Word, Excel, and Access.
