Job Summary

PURPOSE:
The Assistant Cook will be responsible for assisting the cook to ensure that all food is prepared in a sanitary and appealing manner and that the kitchen in the guest house and office is cleaned and sterilized to provide a safe and clean environment for meal preparation.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Assistant Cook will perform the following functions but not limited to:
•Empty the garbage bins at least three times a day.
•Clean and disinfect the working tables at least three times a day.
•Clean the kitchen equipment, dishes and cutlery after each use.
•Clean the stove and oven from inside and outside after each use.
•Clean the microwave and grill from inside and outside.
•Clean and disinfect the drawers, cupboards and shelves.
•Assist in removing and washing all cups, plates and used dishes on a daily basis.
•Assist the cook with meal preparation as needed.
•Other duties as required.

WORK EXPERIENCE
•Experience working in a similar position for an NGO or an international organization is preferred.
